When people look at me
I wonder what they say
But maybe I am better off
Not knowing, in this way

They tell us go to school
Better yourself this way
But how am I gaining
When I lose myself each day

Walking through the halls
Whispers can be heard
School can be torture
If you are deemed a nerd

Bullying free zone
That's what the teachers say
They don't see it as it happens
But we see it every day

What if I could just end it
One girl asks on the brink
As she picks up her razor
And sits down on the sink

A second and I'll be done
Never to hear again
The question isn't "Will it happen?"
It should just be "When?"

So if you see a person
Sitting there alone
Sit down right beside them
Show them that they're known
Bullying happens, just let someone know that they are not alone...

Today is the day
I stop worrying.
Today is the day
I win.
Today is the day
I love myself.
Today is the day
I...
*Keep telling myself lies.

Another,
Another,
Drink up, girl,
Drink!
There’s more to the art of tea parties
Than you think,
See, I’ve been doing this longer
Than you’ve been alive, but
The clock keeps on ticking,
Do you think you'll survive?

I’ve read the leaves,
I know what they say,
Tell me I’ll be stuck here
’Til my dying days,
They should’ve put a warning
Sign by the rabbit hole -
In I came, but
Out I can’t go,
So,

Drink up, girl,
Drink!
I have to continue,
Creating new fortunes
With every *** I brew,
Really hoped that I could have
Stuck my fate onto you,
But you’ll be keeping your head,
Ain’t nothing I can do,
So,

Another,
Another,
Drink up girl,
Drink!
It’s an endless tea party, superb,
Don’t you think?!
I know I’m stuck, but
You’ve got nothing to fear;
Though I have to warn you,
We’re all mad here.
an ekphrastic for class, based upon the illustration of the tea party in alice in wonderland by john tenniel - special thanks to naomi
I breathed it into her,
as if words could heal a wound;
"Make me better.
Make me whole.
Fill me with your world."
And words became movements,
and movements became a dance,
and our hearts became the music,
and this music is a trance
of sinful, vile,
shameless, evil,
vicious, mad romance.

Come on, baby.
Tear me in two.
Sorry I haven't been on in forever, just been very busy. Here's one I wrote recently!

Emma
She gazed up into the indigo night sky
Saw the twilight moon eclipsed
Like an unknown planet dark but visible
Had smothered the light
Apart from one sliver cresented
On the edge where black became blue

I followed
Through the piercing breeze
Needing to get out
I stayed inside, I couldn't breath

We sneaked through the underbrush
Feeling improbable and alive
The stars made us feel at home
With you I felt less alone
Creeping along some old man's back yard
Lying on the grass, your hand in mine
Trying not to remember, trying our best
To stop time and our hearts from beating

I've met boys like you.
Sweet, so sweet.
I've met three, to be exact.
It took a year for the third
Three months for the second
Just a day for the first
To hurt me.
All three in different ways.
All three haunting me.
Part of me wonders how long it will take for you
To hurt me.
A bigger part of me doesn't want to find out.
and yet, this makes me a bad person
