Outside of poetry
I would still be living a life
lightened and carefree
merrily chatting with wife.

I would let a poem rise in my head
throw to wind and see it dead
return to sky all breath of pain
watch them fall as joyous rain.

I would darken the screen let it sleep
burn the poems with none to keep
retire to the nook not been for long
brush up the web on a dusty song.

To be away from poetry I would strive
sail on the river go on long drive
snuggle tighter to a fathomless space
outside of poetry discover happiness.

Along a wooded path we stroll
Past firethorn and evergreen
Following a wondered wish
Illumed by a soft moonbeam

For this we’ve dreamt of evenings past
To find the meaning in our heart
All alone the two of us
Awaiting magic soon to start

I felt a drop upon my lips
Of the moon's soft tender glow
Read my lips by soft moonlight
Loving thoughts for you do flow

The breeze brings its gentle touch
Shivers tingle up my spine
Goosebumps rise on freckled skin
Your arms warmly wrapt 'round mine

So mesmerized by fireflies
Such whimsy on the evening air
A’ flickering of tiny lights
Just for the two of us to share

I point up to a shining star
Its beauty glistens ever bright
And whisper, that is what you are
To me this perfect springtime night

I am nothing more my dear
Than a woman in love with a man
Let me show you what I need
Into my own I take his hand

I guide him to the big oak tree
Our names carved into a heart
"2gether 4ever", this you promised
A kiss seems a good place to start

So there below a canopy
Of branches twisted up above
I kissed the one that I adore
To know the feeling of true love

And as the sun began to set
I held her in my arms so tight
2gether 4ever a dream come true
My promise made again this night
Collaboration with my beautiful girlfriend Holly Jupiter Smith. Her verses in italics. I hope you enjoy our poem.

POEM 4

As the blue-green sea rises
with the moon’s whimsical phases,
it also falls with vociferous attitude
crashing methodically
on the rocky shore.

I see you
standing within this torment-
Neruda like-
conducting with poetry’s brush
the colors of a starry night.

And the emptiness in my heart
is filled with your melodious art

Aztec Warrior 6.13.15
My heart shouldn’t have profusely bled
I saw her face only once
a moment’s crossing in a moment paid
not meant for a second chance!

The fire shouldn’t have leapt in me
she was a doomed emotion
trying to live in my penned poetry
meant to be only a notion!

My mind shouldn’t have imprisoned her
caged her from one mere glance
lived the phantom of an absurd affair
spilled ink in a mad trance!

I shouldn’t have sought her anymore
searched in the wild her trace
she couldn’t be my paramour
I saw from the crowd her face!

I love life the way it should be
Where we all have a soul mate
Where when we're born we see in color
Until our other's fate

But for me it's quite the opposite
I've never seen color a day in my life
All shades and highlights and different tones
Of the same old black and white

Eventually I somehow came to terms
I accepted my colorless scheme
So you can imagine how startled I was
When my reality took after my dream

I opened eyes to meet light shades of morning
To instead have them flooded with ***
I was bombarded by all of these new tints and tones
I couldn't ever select a choice one

Though after the initial shock of it all
I was startled once again more
With the realization that I finally found you
The someone meant to color my world

When your mind is shattered
Your eyes are blinded
There is pain everywhere
you go
Don't give up and
Don't give in

When the wheel of fortune
is stuck at 6
No hope remains
Don't give up
Don't give in
Noon will be coming around
again

When loneliness is
your only friend
and
it keeps calling you names
Don't give up
and
Don't give in

There are times
when life is
ablaze with horrors
but
Don't give up
and Don't give in

Those that survive
are those that find meaning
those that passively
take to their bed
are bound
to
perish
Don't give up
Don't give in

When the law's
got your name
and no payment can be
made
and
you have to go
along with their plans
that have been laid,
Inside, where you hide
Don't give up and
Don't give in.

Time only stops
once
Don't give up
Don't give in.

It's like we just push on with it further
And we never even bother
Yet all we do is just hurt each other
We say goodbye like we mean it
But turn back in less than a minute
Bring it up and embrace not the thought
Say we should break up and doing it not
It's a winter whose snow feels hot
I like the way we move on,back to this very spot
Back into each others welcoming arms
Feeling the impact of each others breathing lungs
And our hearts beating neath our chests
It's clear we only break up into love
Maybe hurting some more's what we deserve
To realize that it won't work, it scares me to admit
"It's over" but I cannot tell you when we meet
All I say is let's do it again one more time
And all you say is I should write you one more rhyme
The question is when will it be the "lastest" my friend
When we cannot bear to abide to the end
Let me find my home
my anguish where I belong
that came from our own souls
the ones that we are ourselves
perhaps haven't found the words~

We cry for our pains
wishing to absorb it all
without memory for those
where life was fast and alone
the fear of looking back, scared and not belonging~

We thought we had forgotten
we thought our love had been long dead
deep in our memories, you can't haunt me anymore
I thought I was over you, till we looked in each others eyes
the other night~

We looked so serious that evening
tried not to smile, but the hurts had left us
yes, you were in our peaceful little world, then you cried
and I died, with the knowledge we would be no more, you said
yes, you said.... goodbye~

We were lovers, then we were no more~

Bring down the rain
Oh bring it down as fast as you can
Bring down the rain
And cleanse me off all the doesn't make me a good man
Bring down the rain
And ruin me for what I love
Bring down the rain
And prove to me there is a God above
Bring down the rain
So my friends can't see my tears
Bring down the rain
So I may conquer all my fears
Bring down the rain
And freeze me to the bone
Bring down the rain
And may the man with no sin cast the first stone
Bring down the rain
So I can see you in a new light
Bring down the rain
So I may finally sleep through this night
Inside of us you should always reign
with poetry given the main game
the lamenting heart of a stars heart
like chorus in a distant land
echoing through your star lite chamber
Compassionate parts of poetry of tomorrow...
Capable of infinite sorrow
expressive eyes that see
such kindness
as much as me...

To be special in an indifferent world
makes no difference in your million years
In the mire of your worlds
you hang on to every syllable
when hurt comes in shades
you write and weep in your poetry...
A poet's life, not understood
many shake their heads and go
as each poet's days on paper are born
carrying a message to another's day
the immortal message maker of beauty
fires the souls of God's art, that cries for me...
Through my poetry my heart has grown
contacts are many that share their life
seek their poetry through each strife
sweet to all our visions giving air of love
surrounded by a blazing sphere of sweet doves ..

That girl in the rain
You found yesterday
Who was crying alone
Now that you're with her
She still cries, but not in pain
There are tears of joy
And smiles and laughter
Because you came
An angel to her

That girl in the rain
Who saw rain like tears
Now that you opened her eyes
Rain becomes a beautiful thing
You never leave her
Together, you dance in the rain

I can see clearly
Two shadows under the rain--
A man with wings
And *that girl in the rain
.
She loves the rain. <3 <3 <3

i'm going to change the name
of this poem throughout the day

how much so it all depends
on how fickle a mood i am in

it's inner workings will stay the same
only the title i'll rearrange

of course this will not make much sense
but what have i writ that ever did

the intriguing titles may draw a crowd
but once inside and they find out

exactly what it is i've done
and of this poems value as being none

they may light their torches and then drum me
out of town if not hellopoetry

so here goes, hang on tight
this may end up a bumpy ride
