Effulgent hues of spring shall be on view
They'll make for a smashing garden review
A most splendid floral display to see
Trees and vines prettily attired
Truly a glory that can be admired
The pink sweet peas o'er trellis adorning
Looking so divine at break of morning
Yellow daffodils blooming near the path's lee
Every shade of the rainbow parading
Adding lovely tones to the glading
A bursting forth of many bright flowers
Unto one's heart they'll bring such delights
In yards a vast bouquet of fair highlights
Stunning shall be these grouse floret showers

one hankers for summer's return
to again feel a warmer burn
the balmy touch shall so elate
basking in the sun's genial sate

oh depart gelid winter song
you've tarried around far too long
come back one's most favoured mate
basking in the sun's genial sate

in time one's yearing shall subside
on a change to the season's tide
one awaits until that choice date
basking in the sun's genial sate

one hankers for summer's return
basking in the sun's genial sate
The Real Battle
Two roses aspire to be in love from petal to petal
Fragrance reinvigorates beauty to ameliorate
They are ready to face the life just like a real battle
And transitory sonnets to associate, narrate
All the colours of life with just different shades
The dew drops on the petals glorify the state
But death has its own stairs to sharp edged blades
What a fortune and what a miserable fate
Roses are roses with their own pain and pleasure
They take birth to make surroundings colourful
And then die down leaving behindthe love treasure
Their transitory stay is beautiful and wonderful

At times, it's good to waver for a while,
Be careful, look around, don't stop your quest,
Don't mimic like a child the others style,
But all the time do what you think is best.
And even if the people think they can
To jump into the void and then to fly
It's better to stick always to your plan
Be patient, to be sure before you try.
To always be the first is vain conceit
And life will break you if you are absurd,
But all the sages tell us and repeat:
The truth is never harbored by the herd.
Don't rush, be calm, don't make any mistake
You're not a sheep, so keep your mind awake.

Loss lingers in the souls of the living
Sorrow's travails endless and unceasing
The sad anguished heart needing easement
From the pain that is so unkind of feel
Time's hand of comforting shall start to heal
Our beloved quickly taken away
In our worlds they leave the dimmest of ray
Their existence lies in our bereavement
Yet they'd wish for us to not keep stinging
So we'll recover from our suffering
Cherished memories of them shall stay
As we look to the heavens up above
They'll be smiling down upon us with love
Though our thoughts will be adrift in the grey

My body's made of dust and muddy earth
And yet my soul descended from the sky,
Love's been my mistress from my very birth
And I'll protect it always, till I die.
She's like a down that gathers in a pile,
Because she's sensitive and pure and light,
But if the wind starts blowing for a while,
Then she gets scared and suddenly takes flight.
On our Earth, love is a little shy,
People have lost their meaning and are bad,
They are attached only to things that lie,
Love for some time, and then they all get mad.
But I respect my mistress, she's sublime,
I'll be her slave until the end of time.

me thinks a sonnet is very hard to write
putting it on paper doth require skill
one must show the ease of a carefree kite
whence well applying each and every ink spill
there's no room for bad mistakes being made
the formatting should carry the exact tone
as stated by Will who knew of poetic trade
penning many hundreds in iambic cone
one did dare Shakespeare's enduring trail
on attempting his fourteen line layout
oh yes the challenging road did prevail
depicting a time honoured rhyming rout
with couplet concise one shall fly away
leaving a poem of red roses in May

Was it not yesterday when we fell in love?
Was it not that night in summer just me and you?
Oh dear, have I reclaim'd my lost lover-bug?
Another poem for my dear sweet you:
Miss Lover Lady, where travels you now?
And what woman or man have you embold'?
And brown hair, so beautifully brown,
A brown that seeps into parts of my soul:
Ah, everything! Everything that is there
In the world will match not up with your eyes:
And Lady, when great universes stare
They too would get lost where the green flares lie.
But gone Lady is, by morrows of time;
And falls lover's truth withal lover's rhyme.

of a repeat image he did employ
which was akin to an advertisement
this being the artist's own singular ploy
did he do it for some little amusement
in galleries these very works can be seen
where they will feature an alike object
as if the viewer needed a copy screen
to understand the picture's subject
a dozen or more on the white background
they displayed a famous maker's name
who did blend the tasty liquid's abound
that was captured in a pop artist's frame
on this night I've written about the man
known far and wide for depicting a can

she closets herself away from our sight
yet her ball has the brightest of glimmer
a shining created for sheer delight
how dare she hide her radiant shimmer
behind the obscure curtain of a shroud
she's disposed to making us cheerless
by not displaying outside the dull cloud
why oh why does she behave so joyless
her rays won't beam in an opulent glow
there she chooses to remain concealed
her petulant manner has gone on show
we await the hour she'll be revealed
look our sun has had a change of heart
she exhibits her brilliant orb so smart
Ye men so coward of poor Uganda,
Why dost thou comfortably rest in bed
As though crimes extant all propaganda,
And overlook the rising toll of dead?
Ah, night is nigh, rise now or nevermore,
For deep in dungeons lies thy dear child
Who should have lifted thy hope from the floor
That bliss as merry birds spark in the wild,
As such would bloom again upon thy land
That now lies in a sepulchre of sorrow,
As of a pirate prostrate by the strand
With faded hope to sight a new rainbow.
O rise up now and fight for thy freedom,
Before the land sinketh in lasting doom.

#Shakespearean sonnet
This sonnet hath been written in defiance of atrocious acts by the current president of Uganda, he who hath been in power for more than 32years. This time round when he detained Bobi Wine, a musician yet politician who is now on the verge of death in dungeons unknown after being subjected to atrocious acts that deserve not even an animal because he stood up against his malicious acts, I had to pen this poem to cowards of my country (Uganda) who have failed to rise up for freedom. God bless our dear land.

As though their roles are irreversible,
As only comforters to bread winners,
And thought as weak oft perceived as sinners,
The men rules, women seems incapable.

Dear fathers why burdened your daughters so?
Of women's jobs but forced the girls to fill
The pails with water, wood from distant hills,
Instead of school to learn what they should know.

Herded at tender age to married life;
Heaven's rewards engraved on simple minds;
To tidy, cook and wash, no cuddly toys,
Be ever present, good, obedient wife.
They need your love, affections so be kind,
They strive in onerous world with men and boys.
The Petrarchan or the Italian sonnet. A different form from the modern shakespearean sonnets that I normally write.
