South-by-Southwest
Once upon a time I wrote poetry
To fill the emptiness that did reside

Once I learn to say how I felt
Long after the tears had mostly dried

Once I marveled at what I could write down
I even marveled at the rthym of the sound

But now the words falter , stumble at the gate
They no longer please me , I take it as my fate

Their purpose has somehow been denied
And to continue on a fruitless path would be living in a lie

So I take stock and close the book and put away my pen
For I will not be found in grace on page written in poem again

Once I was lost but now I'm found

I just want you
Inked on my skin
Never be removed
Never be forgotten
Always on my mind
Will forever be in my heart
For we are one
And will never apart

my lips pressed into yours drunkenly,
i pretty much stumbled through the kiss -
i didn't know whose lips where whose;
mine had lost feeling many hours before,
i just remember being close, then being entangled,
tequila kisses are the best kisses

you showed me a four leaf clover,
'budapest,' you said as though it meant something,
you were kind,
I was inebriated
I wanted to keep you a secret, I was playing games and it was
insane,
each covert kiss was more tantalising than the last

thank you for showing me a four leaf clover,
thank you for pushing me away,
thank you for being my escape for a just

Friendship – a seamless sky
Far too complex to gauge or delve.

At times like the early rays of morn
It fills one with joy.

At times like a gentle breeze
It cuddles and cossets.

At times like dark clouds
It overcasts the mind.

At times it comes blowing like a gale
Sweeping us off our feet.

At times it sprouts like a seedling
Growing out into a tree, giving shade.
It blossoms like a Night Queen
Diffusing in the air, a heady scent.

At times like the plaintive notes from a flute
It saddens the soul.
Like a rainbow it may swiftly vanish
Or remain like a beacon
Guiding us when storms rage.

In darkness, it burns like a candle.
In loneliness, a sweet presence.

At times so silent
At times so very eloquent

Finally like an unfinished tale
A fond memory
A lingering scent
Like the life – sustaining breath
It remains…..!
Just brooding over the several shades of friendship and the myriad experiences it gives!

There's so much you hide
Behind that opaque mask
But for the sake of love, dear,
I do not ask.

a song sung in silence
- traced poems across the sky
dipped fingers in ochre, the Sun

Is not an easy task
But it is rewarding
To do what Jesus asks

My father now needs me more
A new level of care
So I will look after him
I'll always be there

My mother is not able
Handicapped herself
And so it is left up to me
I put much on the shelf

I won't be on the site as much
I guess a rarer bird
But I will still share with you
You will read my words

I will need strength in spirit
I must find a way
If you find it in your heart

Please help me and PRAY.

My father is very stubborn man. He doesn't like people fussing over him. He's very independent. But I've let him have his independence too long. He needs more care and I am being diplomat and caregiver at the same time. My mother has West Nile and back problems. She needs care too. So if you could pray or send me good thoughts I would really appreciate it!

I've been asked
did you find love?
and I say yes, I did
with the pink glow of a sunset
the smell of salt in the oceans
and the way the cold, blue water
breathes like a weeping accordion
strangely sad which strikes at the core
I found love
in the art of storytelling
in stringing words together
I can climb to a treetop
and yell on the top of my lungs
I am an architect!
I construct words to compose
the most beautiful stories
I analyze and measure,
feel the weight of it
on the tip of my tongue
I fell head over heels
for the visual arts,
for the literacy of colors,
for the symphony of form and shape
for paint to transcend
human imagination
I fell in love,
I am still in love
with chocolate and blueberries,
with pillows and books,
with laughter and road trips,
with peculiar imagination,
with many, sublime things
but mostly I fall in love
with moments and memories
I can share
with others
