A baby girl gently smiles in sleep
a young woman clad in military fatigue,
in a war zone, somewhere, for now quiet,
startled, not knowing why, wakes up,
the baby dreams a yellow butterfly
alighting on a bright red flower,
when mama was carrying her around
in a bid to put her to sleep, slapping
gently on her bottom; sleepy eyes close.
The 'woman soldier' (an oxymoron
for all those who could think)  a mother to boot,
is thinking about the plummentting population
of monarch butterflies, in the woods she once roamed,
the town she grew up, she now misses, in her thoughts flap wings.
She is worried about the change of climate,
though all she thinks is about the plight of the butterflies.

Now, she hears a gun shot at distance,
shudders thinking about the children
sleeping under the blankets, expecting no harm.
She imagines a baby smiling, gently in it's sleep
and on the shades of that memory, she feels calm,
gripping at the handle of the machine gun,
kept ready at hand to fire first at an enemy, any time.

One talks about peace, as fear gnaws deep at the heart,
the flame of love is  protected by cupped female hands
children securely sleep,in the  protective heat of mother's breast,
rise and fall of the *******, the smell of milk, enveloping my body,
til the day in my mother I  was enshrined in,
I still can trace in my brain.

The woman soldier, may fall dead, hit  by a bullet
intentional or not.A war is a war, even a butterfly killed,
is considered enemy, at that time and place. It's grammar is hate.
The baby may have to live, for ever not seeing her mother,
who in the scene above was absent, may not return, ever.
The monarch butterflies would die in thousands and fall from skies.

We still try to cry, but there isn't any tear, climatic change burns eyes.
It's night, a pale moon mourns for the orange sun of the evening.
when the climatic change strikes, it's not in one place or time.
it erupts all over the globe, hearts bleed, love dies little by little.
Hello
Are you there?
Are you listening?
On the other side
You see
I have a problem
I am suffering
With my pain
The wound is open
It is still bleeding
My soul is hurting
It is ebbing away
In a whiskey haze
Of sleepless nights
Of tortured agony
But it never heals
This broken heart

That ***** was tough,
I mean,
she was picturesque,
a sweet
beautiful
f'n sight to behold.
Not too old,
but old enough
for frisky business.
She stood straight up,
with her back
to the crowd
facing the bar
grasping double-****** whiskies.
She was a freaking shooter,
rapid fire witchery,
hoisting them up
like there would
be no tomorrow.
And they didn't seem to phase
her neon azure mop
or the devil tats flipping birds
on her shoilders,
she was practiced,
certainly well-versed.
Her pendulous *******
were heaving,
both of them mightily,
covered with her sweat,
and red,
some yellow roses.
I loved her platforms,
plasticene white,
with jeans like leopards
exposing her lace
and fineness.
Jesus,
where do they make 'em
like her...where?

.

A fog this night has settled in
Among the chiseled stones
With dates now carved of ending years
and places so alone

Shadows weave in dense display
Each noise our skin it crawls
The squeaking of the rusty gate
Like footsteps in the halls

Shaded in its own dark beauty
Garden glows 'neath half hidden moon
A rose's thorns prickle the night
Trembling winds carry somber tune

Voices loom behind the walls
Whispers of secrets rushed
Cries of anguish simmering ready
Betrayals are quickly hushed

And still we walk with eyes so wide
Shivering our hands we hold
Bound by fear this wicked night
Lost among the gravesites cold

It's my fault this nightmare eve
A shortcut sought, a new way home
And now we wander, careful steps
Deeper than the eerie roam

Finger nails against blackboard scrape
The whistle of a boiling kettle
Sounds that make me shiver and cringe
Maddening and unsettled

I imagine a band of ghostly beasts
Play upon our organs this night
Stealing our hearts, tortured minds
Now I'm clinging to you in fright

Hold me tight I’ll find an exit
Somewhere down this crooked path
Lined of shrubs with broken branches
Beating hearts the aftermath

Not much further, there’s a clearing
Just a few more steps to go
I’ll let nothing come and harm you
Because I do love you so

Your smile foretold
I'd *****-up this poem.
We had foresight then,
And anticipation
Invoking the future.
We leaned back,
Looking down the well,
Swept away clouds
In tea-cups,
And smoke in cauldrons
To seize the summer.
The suddeness of loss
Is not prophesied;
One does not pre-order
Ointments.
If I'd been spiritual
I would've seen a sign,
Like a bird,
Building a nest.
I don't hear voices.
When I slice through
A tomato, I don't find
An embossed relief
Of a martyr.
I only have this picture.

I am leviathan swimming through
the ashes of your remains
dying on the ground
you will soon be saved

masses falling to the graves
fearing fire and brimstone
your soul enslaved
ready for your grave

resting there under the sun
finding comfort in the birds song
escaping the malicious tongues
All will be rebuild before to long

life is just a lief falling
beautiful yet slowly dying
fleeing there torches and guns
maybe it is just time calling
balancing your life on the run
balancing life on the run

walk the beaten path
carry the weight of the wizards staff
through the mountain and  seas
see his trinkets glistening

the agony of your hypocrisy
vanish into thin air not to be seen
don't give validity to your insecurities
make life the way you want it to be

the sunflower set in the west
white rabbit rest on your breast
words don't always make sence
everyone has there own quest

sing your zombie song
dead astronaut and lizard skin
the devil's in dark cats and woman
marvel at the colors of your death

take the veil from off your eyes
and watch the sunrise
The beauty you seek is inside
my heart goes out to the night

resting here under the sun
finding comfort in the birds song
escaping the malicious tongues
life is just a lief falling
beautiful yet its slowly dying
fleeing there torches and guns
maybe it is just time calling
balancing your life on the run

racing to the red light
you fear personal hell
violate every law of the universe
and yet you feel so frail
put your  coin in the wishing well

Satan's diaphragm, pentagram in hand
Die is the O, death is the answer
voice carrying,  through the  under lands
tempting you like an exotic dancer

resting there under the sun
finding comfort in the birds song
escaping the malicious tongues
life is just a lief falling

beautiful yet its slowly dying
fleeing there torches and guns
maybe it is just time calling
balancing your life on the run

Draw a line
Feel the boundary
Not to trip over
Or falter
Only a line
Yet, restricting
Undulating ground
No straight lines
We may try
To draw perfect lines
Futile attempts
Only chasms
Line goes deeper
In hearts and
Annals of history
Edges out many
Marginalizing humanity

If you should hear me
Say Ave,
Don't presume
You hear me pray;
It's just one way
For me to say,
How 're you?

If you should hear me
Say Shalom,
Don't assume
You heard a Jew,
I'm only offering
Peace to you.

If you should hear
Namaste,
Don't be amused,
I'm not Hindu,
I bow to the good
I see
in you.

Then again I say
Waz sup,
You don't think
I'm  Gangsta,
You know I mean to say
Les hang togetha.

Does it really matter
What you heard;
The silent or the spoken word.
Words spoken in brevity
Are heard with sincerity;
But there's none more true,
Than
I Love You.

You can go home
When you run out of dreams
When there's nothing left
By any means
When you've spent all you have
And your left all alone
When your dry to the bone
You can go home

You can go home
When the end has been met
Of fond memories
Of what you once had
When all of your needs
Out way all of your wants
That's when you will know
You can go home

You can go home
Because homes always there
With the door that is open
With the people who care
No matter where
Or how far you have gone
Your not to far away
That you can't go home
