Ignorant; not a care in the world (~)

Holy socks drag on cracked sidewalks
She had a pink shirt,

Or what seemed like it was once pink
She wore a smile & talked to her friend
I never saw him, but I’m sure he’s nice
I swear, her jeans never came with holes,
She’s too young to sport that fashion
Her face was the moon, not the cheesy one,
but pale & distant
Her hair, matted and knotty like dad’s unused
twine ball sitting in his toolbox
Did she have a brother?
Where was he?
I’m sure that unclothed Barbie in her hand needed a Ken

Reclined with their hands dangling over ashtrays,
where the only entity in their mind calling for their attention
is a liver-punching depressant.
Where eyes open for another hit,
and close to the cries of their children
Tonka trucks make snow angels in ash covered carpets,
Walls inhale secondhand sadness; stained with the tears of neglect,
Unmade beds and unfolded clothes shower their unpaid apartment,
Eviction notices pinned to the fridge with
crayon drawings of “daddy”,
Her request for another beer echoes the empty room
& it crosses her mind

“where the **** is she?”
To the 4-5 year old girl wandering aimlessly through the streets; I hope you made it home safe.

Tats
I'm the light in the corner.
You're the shadow upon the wall.
I'm the light happy step.
You're the footsteps in the dark.
I'm the full moon.
You're the howling wolf.
I'm the daytime.
You're the night.
I will die every day.
Just so you can live.
I will embrace you.
You will run and hide.
Won't you be my beautiful disaster?

I want love-
Not the little love
That makes the
heart skip, and
The face blush.
I want to indulge in the Love
That ignites the Spirit

The love that fills all voids,
Heals all grievances,
And
has no boundaries,
No limits,
And
no preconceived notions.

I want the love
That is contagious by presence.
The love that
eradicates insecurities
And replaces them with ecstasy,
I want the kind of love
That sets people free.

I don't want the love
That beats around the bush.
I want the love that
bangs
down my door,
Sets my heart
a blaze,
And keeps
fueling
the fire.

You're just a substitute
Someone to hold in her place
'Cause if I close my eyes
I can still see her face

And I kinda like you
But this sure isn't love
'Cause when I fall asleep
It's her that I dream of

And it's her I want
When I'm alone at night
But you're in my bed
When I turn out the light

So I'll hold you close
But my mind isn't here
It's wandered away
Wishing she was near

You will never be her
I'll never be content
Because inside my heart
I know it's not meant
To be
A man with many faces
Is a man with the cleverest lies
He knows how to hide his secrets
And keep them from prying eyes

A man with many masks
Is a man with a practiced smile
He knows how to end his foes
And act their friend all the while

A man with many ears
Is a man who won't be surprised
He knows what his enemies plan
And he acts out the perfect reprise

A man with many faces
Is a man who will live long and well
But ask yourself this, my friend
Will he live in heaven or hell?
the artist is most depressed; tortured while singing in light.

Ysabelle
It's midnight
No one can notice me crying
They look at me
I smiled.
They never knew,
That at this very moment
I put an end to a good love story.
I sleep too much
But when I sleep
I dream
Oh, such dreams

I dream too much
But when I dream
I feel
Oh, how I feel

I feel as if everything
That I need, that I yearn for
That I so desperately crave
Is in my dreams

So I sleep
And I dream
And when I dream
I am happy
