Here are some things I know:
2+2 is always 4, in the center of an apple lies the core.
One foot is left and the other is right, you need lots of wind to fly a kite.
Puppies are soft and the earth moves slow, red means stop and green means go.
Clouds are white, the sky is blue, and I am absolutely, completely, in love with you.
Here is a happy poem for a change :) oh, and it rhymes.

You can't give love
only to take it back
but I swallow words
like pills these days

and the side affects
have no warning label
and overdosing is
too often fatal

Not Alone

I no longer feel alone
For when my feet are submerged in the ocean
I feel the pulse of millions of beings
As I expel a breath from my lungs
I know it will be inhaled by someone like me
Someone who once felt alone
And has now shared life with a stranger.

There are some nights when
sleep plays coy,
aloof and disdainful.
And all the wiles
that I employ to win
its service to my side
are useless as wounded pride,
and much more painful

Hollow
To properly show you my journeys
I would have to take you back
Hop into my little car
And spin the wheels of time

My life is like a glass globe
That rolls fast along a concrete floor
All the bumps and rocks
Crack the states and memories
And I sleep with both eyes broken

All these things I've seen
Faces
And voices stuck deep within the
Winding, twisting caverns of my head
They parch my throat
And to quench this thirst
Rest?

Let me bend to you
One whisper
So that you may breathe
Similar breaths of knowing
And then...

...then you can tell me
"Keep going"
And you might realize
*She just needs to stop

Forever

You finally learn the curve of the palm of his hand, after all this time
And after all this time, you're not even excited about it anymore.
You finally learned how to fight without crying, after thousands of tears,
And after thousands of tears, you're still wishing for more.

You aimed to learn everything about this person,
But now that you know everything the mystery is gone.

You start thinking about how short nails might feel on your back,
How green eyes might look next to yours,
How an accent might make you tremble,
How stubble might itch or tickle,
How something besides missionary on stolen afternoons would make you moan,
How shots with someone's hand on your thigh might sting less,
How cheap cologne might fill your lungs,
How your clothes might fall differently,
How it would be if it was someone entirely new.

Losing those familiar phrases in hazy cigarette smoke memories,
forgetting the touches and kisses and promises shared at 3am,
moving away from "this is where we first kissed"
and toward "this is where we last kissed"

You don't even know if you'll have the same haircut tomorrow,
or the same job next year,
or the same best friend,
the same bedsheets,
the same goldfish.
So how do you know what "forever" feels like?

I'm in a dark room,
The noiseless sounds make my ears cringe in the silence,
The emptiness a pressing entity.
The surfaces are sharp and cool,
A foreign substance to this world.
The dank smell is also sharp,
Like pointed daggers to the soul.
A bitterness fills my body,
A sour savory on my tongue.
Everything is thick and sluggish,
Even the candle burned out.
Black.
And yet--
There are shadows on the wall,
Dim silhouettes.
I can see a glimmer
Shining through the broken door.
It's still hushed.
It's still bitter.
It's still empty and thick and dark.
But not so dark.

I look at my broken light and think,
"I can fix that."
Scarrow Definition: a shadowy or faint light

Is the greatest art of all
