I'm not trying to defy the light,
just struggling to grasp the chasms where it cannot shine.
I'm not attempting to quell the darkness,
just fighting to keep a candle awake while wandering through it.
You told me you
              Couldn't find your way
                                     In your darkest nights
So I left you a star
               A star in every poem
                               To find your way home
//On her//
Thank you all for loving this poem so much! It's such an honor to have a daily poem.
I wrote this for a special someone in my life.
drip. drop. drip. drop.
hear the pain?
dancing under the purple rain

'cause the rain is the bravest of all
for it is not afraid to fall
and you're all deaf
'cause you don't hear
the hurt of
-
and you're all blind
'cause you don't see
the color of
-
the falling purple rain
The primal cause,
A distinguishable passion.

Irrevocable truth unabided by
Beliefs expressed in dimensionality.

The fire with me burns,
It churns and rises.

Power self-contained
Is glory in it's own fate.

I enter the lair of truth
And seek no counsel.

Therefore I revel,
Proceeding with conviction
Expressing imagination
My minds eye proclamation.

think again if you believe
light is but a rapid blur,
consider that the spark
that lives between
two lover-friends, is light
exchanged in slow fashion;
the slow burn of a campfire,
the sparkle of her passion,
the flicker of a candle,
whisperings of the starlight,
the way a moon beam
bends the tides,
and makes her eyes twinkle;
each my confirmation,
of light that moves
so satisfying slow,
allowing flames to ever grow
ever higher, higher,
kindling sparks into a fire,
for love that lasts
is not a spark alone...
no,
love’s passion is a bon fire,
a sunset setting sky aglow;
an ever-building slow,
to effervescent ether;
a gently flowing kiss,
a living, colored tapestry
of drifting twilight mist;
this the speed of light...
my heart’s desire,
mirrored in my lover’s eyes.

love at the speed of sunsets and star gazing;
evenings spent round the campfire
with only the light of the fire,
the stars and that sparkle in each other's eyes...
falling in love, all over again!

drenched in blue moonlight
I admired her through
the sheet of smoke
in the gap between us

Carefully I
swayed and our arms
greeted with a gentle graze

"I tend to see the glass as half empty–
sometimes completely."

Sudden words drew me
like water from a well

A cigarette pinched by
the uneven crescents of her lips
pulsated, her sallow face
awash in a delicious red glow

"Either way, it's a beautiful glass,
isn't it?"

time nonexistent
She fumbled another
to a faintly open mouth
I lit it in silence
What have you done creator,
What have you made me!
Why did you make me!

I was your angel,
Down-down I fell!
Demon I became!

I fought till the end,
What did I achieve!
Why did I achieve!

I always thought I could,
Not once I thought I would fret,
But I fought till the end of it.
Inspired by Jal the Band from Pakistan.
Their song Kia se kia bana diya is a dig at terrorism.

When I’m gone,
Rip the sinews from my skin,
Grind my bones into dust,
Smelt the metals from my body,
But our eternal love... will never rust.
