Love is a choice
It’s not a never ending releasing of butterflies drowning out the doubts in the stomach
It’s the ability to put aside the “I know I’m right”
For the; “we mean more than being right”
It’s the willingness to wake up
After the frigid night before
The conscious decision to be the first to reach out
A testing hand touch of “Are you still mad?”
Fingertips as light as a fox hunting in snow
One hands replying squeeze of “its already forgotten”
The other pulling me tighter
The frost thawing beneath your heat

I am the loneliest planet in the universe.
There are no creatures in my rivers.
Only a tree among the mountains declares
the presence of life.
Some metallic animals toll my loneliness.
Each of my metallic friends has a natural knife.
Sometimes they test the sharpness of their knives
in my flesh, but I take no offense.
I have been waiting for fifty million years with the hope that
someone like me will find me in my cosmic loneliness,
but planets cannot come near other planets
without jeopardizing their existence
or without committing suicide.
Once, crossing a light-year,I took a suicidal leap
heading towards a bright mate,
but my mate considered it an attempt to ******.

"Swim!" I tell him,
As I drag him down, even further
Into this ocean of addiction.

"Swim, come on you can do this!" he cheers on,
While he slowly pulls me under
And drowns me.

She Writes
I’d rather write than speak
My pen is always responsive
My ink doesn’t judge my mistakes
My paper doesn’t argue
My lines never cross me
My sentences never disappoint
And my words will never leave me

their first
and last mistake
was thinking that she was a flower
or anything fragile or gentle
though she looked like silk and velvet
she felt like broken glass and iron
and it cut deeply into your skin
your mind
your soul
spilling your blood as she went
perhaps rainstorms and romantic lullabies
are more your kind of fairytale
but you'll never again deny her power
her dark and wondrous power
like lightning across the darkest of clouds
the fire and brimstone of Tartarus
the grey and wild lashing of the ocean

I hate that you are so beautiful.
I hate      that you are
                                      So
                                            Beautiful.
At a price
I say it twice
                          It’s comical
                         Illogical
                        That for you I fall
Neurological
Psychological
                        The damage caused
                       Stall
                      Stall
                     Stalled.
                    Paused.

My head now full
         Cruel.
           Undo
             The damage that has spread
To bed
To bed
To bed
     It was said
I hated how you were so beautiful
When for twice those words were
      bled.
