Wings
Heather Anderson Sep 2015

May I grow the wings needed to carry me

Across the plains,
Into the seas,
And beyond the horizon.

Ropes
Heather Anderson Aug 2015
Love tangles itself around my heart
Like rugged ropes
Tied in the most complex knots.
My heart was the one who got itself in this mess.
It pulls the ends tighter and tighter,
Hoping that it will eventually feel like a warm embrace,
That maybe the rope will change into silk,
But it's tearing itself apart,
And it leaves ****** scars.

I’ve despised

Loving myself isn’t easy
