I dart behind the shadow of you
Use the walls to catch my fall
One bird answers the call
of another while a cat
stares on in thrall
Prey for the hunter
Pray for its target
Pray, my friend, for us all.
Chantell Wild Oct 2020
she plays the music loud
when no one is around
she dances like there's no tomorrow
and never a yesterday
she basks in the palpable sound
of her rapid (rabid) heartbeat
bare feet pounding
into unhallowed ground
Chantell Wild Oct 2020
he rides a KLR
and they wizz into the stars
vroom vroom
adventure bike, not speed
no reason to bleed (again)
no joy in riding in the rain
she likes the way it hums
the way her best friend drums
she like the way it growls
the way her mom's dog howls
she likes the way it moves
the way her husband grooves
she likes everything
about motorbikes
like taking early forest hikes
its just a thing - no simple matter
like Alice and her Hatter
she flew once,
from the handlebars
and broke a bone or two
but still,
she likes to ride
she keeps her circle wide,
- wider -
She Rider.
Chantell Wild May 2019
you came to me
like a forest full of trees
and i fell
under the shelter of you
Chantell Wild Jun 2019
The sky's a blanket of black
Sleeping rooftops smudged
with purple ink and shadow
Yellow the colour of
Well matured cheese
Sits just above the horizon
Stealing light
From pinpricks in the night
What we call stars are
Portals through to heaven
Light passing through the sieve
That separates universes.
Chantell Wild Feb 2019
Those eyes that stare
Share stories
That no words could tell
It’s in a gesture
In a slant of the shoulder
In the weight of a sigh
Chantell Wild Feb 2019
Sing sing sing me a river
And I will learn to listen
Flow flow flow like an ocean
And I will learn to swim
Dance dance dance me
A rainbow and I will love again
Chantell Wild Jul 2019
Grassy hills hear
The call of a bird unknown
What is this sound that sings with clarity
Such utterly delightful singularity?
Is that the voice of an angel?
Or is it you that sounds so true
So out of the blue oh beautiful of you
Chantell Wild Jul 2019
Where was I when
you were here
Where were you when
I was there
I don't remember
as much as I should
and there must be a reason
or else I would.
Could I remember?
Dismember my mind
in order to find some memory
that i wasn't meant to keep?
I could.
But some dogs are best left asleep.
Chantell Wild Mar 2019
There's a time to be silent
and a time to speak.
Life is scary in RSA
with our power cuts,
water issues
and general decline.
People are feeling anxious
about what is and
what is coming,
those that cant or wont
leave the country.

Brazen politicians,
reminds me of the book
"Animal Farm"
a revolution
Communism revisited
Everyone is equal
but some more equal than others

Revolt
peasant and person
all people alike

If I could ask you
to consider me
in your prayers,
it would be that I be safe
and supported and happy
doing what I love to do
and that people
around me feel the same,
most especially you x

Tonight we touch the stars
Trail our fingers over mars
Yellow moon smiling
As we skid along
The highways of the mind
Wide eyed and blinking
Under light of Venus and
Spell of Night
Chantell Wild Feb 2020
sweet morning
sweet slumber of night
shadows can never
be brought to light
they will merely reappear
on the other side of dawn.
Chantell Wild Jul 2019
Magic Carpet,
sail not ever from under me
never go unexpectedly
to where I cannot follow.
Chantell Wild Oct 2019
She stayed
When he lost his mind
Stayed behind
When his voice lost sound
They met at the edge of a circle
Drew their swords and
Laid them on the ground
The gravity of consequence
Lay thick in the air
One slice of love and
One slice of despair
Chantell Wild May 2019
It’s not fair.
I beat my fists against the wall
As children do,
Shake my head
at the gravity of it all.
When does enlightenment happen?
When does evolution occur?
It’s just a blur,
This life.
Cuts like a knife
Through butter and
Leaves me senseless
On the gutter..
My heart weeps for you
Wallows in the deep
Side of the water
As you hold your breath
And I try to breathe
But it is what it is
And I cannot keep you
Unless you want to stay.
Chantell Wild Aug 2020
I saw you coming from a mile away
and said, Stop! Stay away!
This is not your day to dismay me
This hole in my heart
will not be made whole by you
this time around
Another day belonged to You.
Chantell Wild Feb 2021
Some say ..
others do.
Between saying and doing,
lies an ocean
of maybe.
Chantell Wild Feb 2019
How dare I be afraid
Of you not being Here
One day you will not Be
Maybe it's Me that
won't  be here
I do beg forgiveness
I could have maybe
Done better by you
But let it be known
That I loved you
That Ill write my last poem
In my own time
Sing my Swan song
In my own time.
Chantell Wild Feb 2019
Mamma told me to never
Tip the boat,
While daddy taught me
How to stay afloat.
Chin up child. Sink or swim.
Chantell Wild May 2019
Silence
To the ear
Is something
I hold dear
Being near you
Is music
And a slowly
Falling tear.
Chantell Wild Jan 2020
He placed her on a pedestal
And fed her milk and honey
Gently clipped her wings
As he showered her with money

She was his wife, he was her life
Until the day she slipped and fell
Easy was the fall into
The waiting arms of Hell

The distance between love and loss
Is no more than a sigh
Easy come hello
And easy come goodbye.
Chantell Wild Feb 2019
In the beginning there was
the word.  Abracadabra.
As I speak, so will I create.
Let there be light. Let there be love.
Let there be all the goods things that we have been dreaming of.
As above so below. Know thyself.
“Abracadabra” from the Aramaic phrase avra kehdabra, meaning “I will create as I speak”.
Chantell Wild Jan 2020
Tick Tock
There goes the clock.
Time to meet your Maker.
Chantell Wild May 2019
A moment with you
Is a lifetime
And a lifetime
Is gone in a moment.
Chantell Wild Mar 2019
One more day
Another week
Note the month
The turn of year
I will tell you
A story
If you'll lend me
An ear -
Listen. Be patient.
Lifetimes
take a moment
To condense
Into something that
Makes any sense.
Time passes
Blink blink
Time stands still
Wink wink
Time will tell
This story
If you have the patience
To let it run
It's course.
Chantell Wild Mar 2019
Tired, sometimes of life
Of trying to be a good wife
Tired of giving in
To cater to your whim
Dancing in trepidation
to the original sin
A battle of the sexes
That nobody can win.
Chantell Wild Aug 2020
are you real?
you are behind that screen
but no more real
than a virtual being.
Chantell Wild May 2019
Trailing fingers
Across wet surfaces
Tracing patterns
From the mind onto
The vastness
Of that ocean
That emotion
And devotion
Wanting to be a part
Of something
And not apart from it all
Trans soul migration
When something inside
calls out
And like moth to flame,
You answer
When that droplet
Comes home
And the sea breaths.
#little things that matter
Chantell Wild May 2019
Cobwebs in her mind
She tries to find herself
But she is the fly
In her own web
Caught up by some
Needle and thread
Tread lightly
Says the spider
Or you’ll find
Yourself dead.
Chantell Wild May 2019
Full moon plays tricks
On her mind
She thinks she can unwind
The arms of time
Rewind and relive
that moment past
It’s gone they try to tell her
But she won’t listen
Never asked
their opinion
In the first place
Moon shines on her face
As she dances magic
Into the space
Chantell Wild Aug 2019
You carried a sack of feathers
over your shoulder
when I met you.
One by one I stitched them back
and then I took you out
and flung you to the wind.
You circled a few times
before you disappeared
and I when I turned to go
I found you walking at my side.
Chantell Wild Jul 2019
The screen against my hand
is cold to the touch
Not much at all
Like the heat that simmers
Beneath the surface
Of a smartphone
There is a universe
In the palm of your hand.
Chantell Wild Mar 2019
you gotto go there to be there.
Chantell Wild Mar 2019
Interests me.
A title (your name,
your “poem”)
Something definitive
About a name.
My things
don’t have a beginning
Or an end
I am merely passing by
Trying not too look to closely
At what I see.
I will return someday,
Wiser,
Eyes open,
And I will be more brave,
Not some slave to myself.
Or to you or to the world.
Chantell Wild Jul 2020
Fingers tangled up in
a semblence of hair
neither here nor there
barely holding
onto feathered threads
that are in the process
of becoming unwoven
Chantell Wild Jan 2019
the rain, it falls
it stalls my heart
cold, inside,
inside of this heart

when will you be here
how long do i wait?
say, will you be here
before it's too late?

patters the rain
like fingers on drums
the clock it is ticking
while Gods do their sums
Chantell Wild May 2019
i will walk.
Cant bear the thought
of talking anymore.
i will walk this talk instead.
web
Chantell Wild Aug 2019
web
something interactive and introspective
lurks beyond my computer screen,
not just lurking but beating like a heart
as it hides behind ones and zeros..
the mechanics of consciousness
staring at me and my mind knows
that there is more to it than numbers
its like when i ran a race as a kid
i knew i could run faster
but my legs wouldn't let me
the mind is ready for more
than what Tech is willing to share
sitting waiting on others to create the platforms
that allow our minds to meander through
webs that other minds have spun
Chantell Wild Jul 2020
Alluding to..
All else?
That which matters
and that which does not.
Chantell Wild Mar 2019
I would climb walls
to get to you
mountains even
if that's what it took
to spend one more
moment with you
Chantell Wild May 2019
Sitting here
Still a little drunk
From last night
Oh you are a sight
For sore eyes
My sweet demise
Where did you come from
And to where do you go
It's an ebb and flow
So easy to be around you
Feeling as I do
I could be superwoman
I could be anyone
Have anything
But all I want is you
Chantell Wild Jan 2020
Posing prose as poetry
Rhyme and rhythm gallantly
Moving aside curtains of dust
We do what we must to get
The point across
Spiraling like hungry crows
Across the carcass
Of a questioning mind
Wings tilting in the wind
As we look to find sense
In some nonsensical thought.
Chantell Wild Jul 2020
There is a curve,
a line and a dot .
And that means something
to someone, somewhere.
Put it down. Dot .
Write what feels right
And turn left when
It is the right way to go.
You
Chantell Wild May 2019
You
The depth of you drowns me
Unbidden tears rise
To the surface of this water
I am unbound from gravity
Only a weightlessness
That holds me in firm arms
My boyancy determined
By the thought of you
Breaking free
From the shackles of mortality
As superhuman emotions
Course through
The veins of me.
It is you.
You have the power
to show me my power.
You
Chantell Wild Aug 2019
You
There was a moment
and that moment set me free
I was alive
Like I never thought I'd be
It was you
That fit me like a shoe
It was you that showed me
What is true.
Chantell Wild Jul 2019
Fumbling for the lights
walls bend under the weight
of a darkness so cold
what has happened
to times of old?
Life, so heavy at status quo
so many born as so many go
Mother said, pull yourself
toward yourself..
Move closer to the fire in your heart
and be warmed there,
you are your own Light.
Chantell Wild Apr 2019
I want to lie
with my legs
entangled in yours,
I want to live
with my heart
in sync with yours,
I want to die
with my hands
entwined in yours..
I am
and have always
been yours.

— The End —
