The Red Woman
i could make lines somewhere else

but i'm too persistent

and a little too proud

so i'll just type a little harder

robin
empty
like a cloud
tears raining down on the people around me
i am numb
like frost bitten hands
piled under snow
alone like bitter midnight winds
with their chilly embrace
hugging you deeply.
i sleep in a pile of leaves. my bones leave their imprint
but no one can tell i was ever there
my heart is the crinkled mess of leaves at the bottom of the pile
if i told you i wanted to die would you believe me
would you be able to forgive my selfishness?

just once she wished for someone
to give her a reason to live.
she hangs off the balcony
wondering if someone is waiting for
her on the other side.

She keeps staring at me
the girl with blue eyes
she keeps asking me
which one of us will die.
in a dark alley
lovers kiss in a corner
street dog is on guard.

What if when I said I cared for you,
it was only in that moment?

What if even it was true,
it was only temporary?

I never said I always would
since I wasn't sure I always could.

So I wouldn't be lying if I told you again, because it would only be for the sake of the moment.
