reminds me that I am still
a broken piece of a bowl,
that needs someone else to fix it

as
dead

as life can be

what does it feel like to be held
not by another body
not by a set of limbs, a chest, a chin
but
by another soul

what does it feel like
to see truth in another pair of eyes
instead of hidden intentions
instead of absence

what does it feel like
to hear a familiar heartbeat
resounding next to your own
reaching through skin
through bone
two rhythms
indistinguishable

what does it feel like
to write poems about
a love that exists

I tell myself that I'm leaving,
to go alone and scream into the night air.

I arrive and try, the air in my throat is tight.
Sounds of anguish and frustration unable to holler out,

I tell myself that nothings changing,
so I grab a lighter that I've been hiding, and hold the tumour between my lips.

Slobbering tears as I lite my stress, this is as close to death as I can feel.

The venom dripping from my mouth,
my foot pressing harder against the pedal down this country strip.
A referendum in my mind embellished with motivation,
so I tilt the wheel and leave it to momentum.

Why didn't they teach us how to get rid of that lump in the back of our throat at school.

I've never been so inlove
True love in my life
Whenever l think about it
I can't help it but feel one hundred percent happy
As cliched as it sounds l feel in love
with myself
Self love
No one can love me the way l love me
That is true love
No one understands me better than me
And when every one leaves l will be left with myself
