It's a Shame
We bend and break ourselves
To level with bent and broken men.

I wish I knew
when I first met you
how much I’d hate
not having you.

The years went by
and your memory drifted
but now your one
of my biggest wishes.

I wish I could remember
I really wish I could
The dreams I had
The friends I've lost
A reason to care
I am just a child
floating in an empty sea  
Not a care in the world
trying to remember
what I have long forgotten

It’s nice to know you’re still reading my poems,
even if you can’t look me in the face.
