Mercy B
Branches stretched towards the heavens
Whipping in the wind remaining strong and tall.

Her leaves like tiny rays of hope
Glisten in the sunlight as they gently fall.

A labyrinth of twisted roots
Hidden deep beneath the tear stained earth.

She casts a shadow on a world
Which sadly has yet to see her worth.

Long has she waited for the storm to end
Alone and still her spirit remains free.

Willing to give someone her everything
For she is the giving tree
Inspired by Silverstien
The giving tree my first taste of poetry

winter

I think I loved you most the winter your heating was broken
And we’d stay inside all morning
Pretending to complain that we couldn’t get out of bed
Our clothes becoming little islands on the floor,
Ones that we could not quite find the courage to visit

Your hand stayed glued to my hip,
Your breath warming my shoulder
Like a long drag of whiskey
That kind that had a home so far away,
In a glass bottle on top of your refrigerator.
The one that would not be opened
Until that fateful day in February,
When everything went wrong

And on that unbearable night
When you joked that you’d freeze to death if I left you
There was a long silence
Like it might be true.

Now it’s warm enough
That I show too much skin when sitting in bars
And you avoid me like the plague,
Whispering in any girl’s ear that’s near to you
Every time you see me watching out of the corner of your eye

We should have stayed inside when the ice began to melt
Because I think
When those doors opened and we finally ventured outside
The world had changed,
And so had you and I.
With your arms comfort me
Or find a distraction to set me free
from the darkness and abyss
seeping in with its deadly kiss

Hold me as we watch our favourite show
or buy me roses, row by row
To heal me from the wounds of the past
and find me happiness to last

Give me advice gentle and caring
or in silence sit simply staring
To let me melt in your eyes
away from all the pasts dark lies

Compliment me on more than looks
or bring me all my favourite books
To distract me from all the scars
of the constant emotional wars

But don't ever let me hear you say
that everything will be okay
Because if I do, then you will see
that our relationship isn't meant to be

Let's think of the present now
and if you do not know how
maybe you don't know me after all, here's why
your only way to comfort, is to think of the past and lie
Why do people always think that the best way to comfort someone is to tell them that everything will be okay? They don't know, and all it does is show that they don't know you, because the only thing they can think to do to reassure you is lie about the future since they are unable to help you in the present
Your toothbrush still has the paste on it
The plate shattered in fragments of you
The glass still has your lip stain on
This bed I'm sleeping in still smells of you
Lying to myself that you'll comeback
Leaving him and crying and knocking on the door begging to come in
But hey, who am I kidding..

Put the car in reverse as you slipped into neutral
A gear must've rusted; I trust the machine busted
because things became mechanical, to be truthful
Major malfunction--our junction ceased to be lusted
by my soul's circuits and tired wires proved to be liars
I thought I knew what I wanted, but I was wrong
My cogs, guts and screws became loose in the mire
of our muddled love, where I did no belong

What worth is living when everything ran rampant silhouettes of you
Running through these polaroids on the wall
I did get out, but it's you everywhere I go
You have etched this fire in my heart
When it burns when we're in love
And when it burns my soul
To ashes remnants of you
Trying my best to get out
I knew you were trouble from the start
But my heart's like a glass thirsts for that lust
Now broken brittled into pieces
Fragments no longer could be fitted

Puzzle pieces and Polaroids for the incinerator
A conflagration consuming our condition
where you fail to see what I fail to do
I may be coldly pieced together, but I'm no traitor

*My love was just another raggedy rendition,
But your eyes are the demons haunting you

Let's write ourselves a poem,
You be the verse, I'll be the rhyme;

Let's find ourselves a feast of words,
And slash them down on white.

Let's sit ourselves in a quiet corner,
So temptation isn't bright;

Let's be ourselves for each other,
And spend our days in the light.

Let's be together for once, forever,
The rest can wait in line;

Let's not change the mellow mood,
And forget the needle and the pine.

Let's lay by ourselves for a little moment,
While I spell our love out on your spine;

Let's share ourselves a life's dream,
And paint it on the starry skies.

Let's pen ourselves our memories,
To remember for all of time...

*I told you we'd write ourselves a poem,
But you ditched me for the dime!
Ember Evanesent

She is a true poet who can do outstanding penmanship in any style of poem from rhyming limerick to emotional free verse. Only Ember doesn't just write she lives, she pours her heart and soul into her work and writes every emotion. This is courage because it takes bravery to be able to get through a piece about memories that hurt and furthermore to share it with the world, in detail, something I could never do. She doesn't care about popularity and rather than writing to please she writes from the soul, one of the many reasons she has so many followers. Ember is a true poet, and honest friend and someone anyone can turn to in need. she has so many things about her that i couldn't even begin to sratch the surface, but trust me, anyone would be lucky and honoured to have someone so awesome as a friend, and one boy will someday be even luckier. She is the most amazing poet, friend, and especially girlfriend anyone could ask for. She is honest, loyal, caring, understanding/compassionate, creative, smart both book smart and street smart types, not to mention gorgeous and these are only a few things. She even cares so much about people, who she has never met that she starts all kinds of challenges to help them feel appreciated, when really she should be getting the appreciation, but somehow she seems to be missed. So if anyone is reading this you should know who is awesome, and the answer is Ember Evanescent
she opens her soft arms
The glowing light
Shown to the world

A frail shell
Open at last
As she reveals
Her smallest secrets

Allowing her sweet beauty
To flow through
Untampered with
By her beautiful protective arms

She is natures greatest beauty
I would love to hear you interpretations of this poem. And please repost :-)
Where's the edge in your rhyme schemes?
No wedge between my time and my themes.

You make cents while you don't make sense,
play dense when you mistake tense.
In my defense,
I expend to no end, at no expense.
Hide intense behind offense,
a generic's scend is too immense.

Son of sin, son of suns and runes.
Father of win, father of puns and tunes.
Fun fact: I was an underclass rapper in High school.

Offense = A fence, oh lawd.
