I just saw them while walking
In the park where I used to go
A tall man and a short one
Walks hand in hand, they show
The tall man kissed his lady
The lady smiled at him
She kissed him back and smiled again
What a romantic team!

And then I walked some more steps
I saw another pair
A black man and a fair girl
They show much love and care
The man seems feeding her food
Another romantic scene
For she's there on his lap
Like a baby girl, I mean

I just smiled then I walked again
To see a new story
The man is old, the woman's young
But it's the sweetest pair to see
The man's holding her shaking hand
With tears rolling on her face
A ring he's putting in her finger
With a vow so full of grace!

And so I walked and walked again
Like moving round and round
My eyes are full of sweetest tears
My feet float from the ground
My heart now bleeds for I'm amazed
For love's a mystery
Those scenes will be forevermore
Like forever you and me.

Isn't it so inspiring to see love everywhere?

1 John 4:16 - And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

1 John 4:8 - He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
you may not know me
face to face,
but you and I have connected
heart to heart through words.

Our lives are woven together by
the tapestry of words,
and into a living breathing poetry.

you and I are no longer strangers,
but fellow poets and sojourners
on this journey of creation.

I miss you
but you're not what I want anymore.

Blood in my eyes,
Slack in my faith,
Baby, I know it,
Your love is a wraith.

Blood in my eyes,
Slack in my faith,
Baby, You know it,
I commemorate
All who follow
The dream evermore.
Live the dream.
That's what it's for.

Blood in my eyes,
Slack in my faith.
You say it, then you don't,
But, you want me to stay.
You're not the dream
That I've wished for,
I'm going to chase my dream
To the farthest shore.
Then I'm going
To board a vessel,
Without a shred
Of guilt to wrestle.

Blood in my eyes,
Slack in my faith,
Like a bullet on fire,
I break from your gate.
I'll be on distant lands.
You will wonder
Why you have no man.

Blood in my eyes,
Slack in my faith.
Baby, I know it.
Your love is a wraith.
Blood in my eyes,
Stars on my vest,
I linger on
No past regret.

Blood in my eyes,
Slack in my faith,
Baby, I know it,
Your love is a wraith.
This is a mantra,
I often say,
When I think
Of that sweet day
When I'll finally find
The courage to leave you~
This is a companion piece to Dear John, another poem I submitted to this site. It has been decades in the making.
today
is all I have

yesterday
is worlds away

tomorrow
never comes

What Is Life?

Tryst
Oh what is life if not a thrill,
To crawl, to walk, to run downhill,
To mumble, crumble to old age,
To this end I shall live my days?

To be unseen, to be unknown,
To be afraid to be alone,
To toil to scrape a living wage,
To this end I shall live my days?

Or yet, to pillage viking halls,
To barrel-roll Niagara Falls,
To greet a shark without a cage,
To this end I shall live my days!

Oh what is life if not a thrill,
To this end I shall live my days!
