There once was an ugly offspring,

Unfortunately it was me,

As I grew old,

The more I got told,

That I was a sight to not see.

What's hidden far beneath us,

What lies there underground,

Appears at night so silently,

A silent death we've found

I seek only validation,
For everything I do,
Yet expectations's crippling,
In my pursuit of you.

A need to see a doctor,

Not me, my poorly pup,

I guess it beats the worrying,

To find out just what's up

We fear the things we cannot see,

Or things we think we hear,

A moment though of clarity,

Shows all we fear, is fear.

The happiest I've ever been,

That's a day I won't forget,

I saw your smile and all the while,

On the first day that we met.

We sit and stare through windows,

Hoping tales they will begin,

But have we ever thought that they,

Are outside looking in?

A second lasts forever,

As a single memory,

The choice is yours to make, now,

What's it going to be.

Where do all the birdies go,

When it becomes night,

I'd like to think they're in their nests,

With their duvets, wrapped up tight.

Tick tock it is the witching hour,

I fear they're all around,

They creep and sneak and then appear,

Without the slightest sound.

My best friend is called whiskey,

I think he's really neat,

When I'm out with whiskey,

My whole life seems complete.

We celebrate the winter sun,

The darkness' died and light has won.

A frozen chilly morning,

The grass all white and crispy,

My ears are blue, the sky is too,

With clouds of white and wispy.

The stale smell of the waiting room,

Embraced by walls, a dying womb.

After but a moment,

Regardless of your mood,

Deep down, underground it is,

Served up as worm food.

It isn't that I'm worried,

But I find it rather crude,

That no matter what I do,

I'm served up as worm food.

So live life and be happy,

For in the end we are all *******,

Before you know, it's off you go,

You'll end up as worm food.

If only it were easy,

To live ideas our minds have chewed,

But in a box, and on the rocks,

You're served up as worm food.

I went to see my doctor,

I was feeling quite unwell,

He wrote down some strange notes,

What he put I couldn't tell.

Wondering about my world,

The direction in which it turns,

Why things are the way the are,

How my heart still yearns.
