Saturday evenings at sunset
the young lie in wait
as vampires,
ready to feast on fresh flesh
the night offers in sacrifice.
No one is safe
from the pleasures and perils
of rabid desires.

What is it to be alive?
Pondering life
Living....
Is it to be wild
without a care?
Taking off in a split second
No worries no responsibility
Traveling
Mystery
Is it to be wrapped up in
Hobbies
Spending time doing
The things you enjoy,
Being somebody
Loving somebody...
Does that make you feel alive?
Is it knowing?
Wisdom, knowledge, philosophy
What does it mean?
No matter where I'm going
All the places I've been
Even when I thought I
Was loved
All my years one thing I've
Never felt is
Alive

The message
you carry
is more
valuable
than
your defeats
and
it is
with this
knowledge
in which
I hope
you choose
to keep walking.
Dude, like, husuh, dude?

We play with fire
In dark, hoping we both feel
burns on our hearts.

They come flooding your mind
with no warning
though, everyone appears
at different times
reminding you the days
of happiness, sadness
hardships, achievements
all with their little purpose
in your life
Somewhere in the world
but not a part in your life
Dead, some maybe
and always alive in your memories

Hello Poetry to me is just another joint family
How by a common bond, here we are strung together
Though separated by geographical boundaries
Distance has never been a hitch or a tether

Your relentless encouragement helps me aim for heights
Your heart felt blessings give me loads of happiness
Your poems open before me new avenues of thought
Your gracious company creates for me a new ambience

Before my eyes, a hundred smiling faces appear in a row
Some stand out as beacons of radiant light
With words of encouragement, you vanquish all my doubts
Revitalizing my spirit and leaving it shimmering bright

Through this forum we share our inmost thoughts
How close we feel though never been together
Many have left the scene leaving trails of footprints
And many join fresh to continue the endeavor

Irrespective of creed we are here at art’s sacred shrine
‘Poets’ we are called and we breathe the scented pride
We stand tall among many others of our species
Let us proclaim aloud our fraternity worldwide!
Please don’t see this as a poem, but an expression of my deep feelings of gratitude! I am so happy about the enthusiastic response I get for my poems and am short of words to thank Hello Poetry and my fellow poets here! These days I am ******* with some family responsibilities and am unable to read poems I wish to read or comment!  The pressing engagements at the home front compel me to take a short break from you all! Hope to be back after two weeks. In between, whenever I get time, I shall try to see your poems…

and then I asked you,
"What's your biggest fear?"

you gave me a quivering sigh,
looked at me straight in the eyes
and said,

"It's that eventually, you will see me
the way I see myself."

A poem is a testament to my soul
Words that mean nothing

Composed with sincerity and love
Things that I can hardly grasp
Yet I try to express them with my
Limited vocabulary
Yet I know in my heart
At least one person knows my joy
Knows my happiness
Knows why I suffer so much
From abandonment
From the truth of beauty
I can't break away from the people who put me down
They strengthen me with their insults
I rearrange my priorities
And instill a sense of wonder

When I look to the mountains for guidance
I see snow covered tops
Filled with tears as the seasons change
Breeding life a new
Just as I reach a depth of despair
Staring from the valley below
I might never reach the top
to play in the snow
to hold the coldness in my hands
but I hope to grasp at least the words it lends my ears
Wind howling through the saplings
You soothe me
You make me realize my inadequacy
and you make me crave for more
Lustfully, beautifully, intelligently
I thank you,
As you watch the leaves of your tree
Fall and decompose this autumn
to feed the parched soil of my heart.
My ode to the absurd
