A Day that became set in stone
etched with souls of sacrifice and victim

A City of tears and pain witnessed by Lady Liberty
Our Capitol and a Town marked by suffering

A Nation gripped in silence and primal scream
great tragedy befallen before the people.

A time we rose against adversity and tribulation
embracing one another in comfort and love

A country bonded in Human spirit and to persevere
memories of those passed, carried by light of our hearts

A moment of history that echoes into the future
to remember always and to forever sound

A Day to take rememberance, to stand always
brothers and sisters, in Love and as One.

* We need to truly never forget, but live on as we did then. United, Caring of Others, of Strength and Faith. If we are to forever hear the voices of that day, and carry the souls of then till now in continual light, then do so by staying in unconditional sacrifice of heart to others.*

As living outside NYC and grown up there for some time, it was a moment as if the world grew silent, almost biblical as in silence came across the heavens.  Then a roaring, primal cry of spirit filled me, feeling the truly sudden tragedy of it all.  I cried for all of humanity in that moment. Saying to God, what have we become?

What I remember is not only of the loss of life, but of how for some time after, there were glimmers of humanity, faith, help, and strength here amongst strangers and neighbors. Amidst the anger that stemmed to many from this, some instead saw with eyes open, that we need to change, and be kind to others.  Today I try to live by this, to pass this to my children, and show there is always hope. However, I must admit that today, people have gone back to theirs ways, and have forgotten the memory of what we had.
I shall carry to my best, not only lights of this day and of the souls, but honor all of any kindness, and that will unite us as humans.
Just another day
Same as the last
She knew nothing else
Only to feel pain

She belonged to him
There was no escape
Did all he asked
Never said no

How nobody saw
Those blackened eyes
The darkest of bruises
She never knew

He was older
To this young woman
Forced to find respect
Of a husband she hated

Never to bear a child
Because of the damage
The kicks he gave her
Did to her body inside

Knew if she escaped
He would track her down
Cut her beautiful face
Make her suffer in time

Too scared to tell
For would anyone listen
Who would help her
When he was her owner

So she continues to serve
Keeping it all in silence
Never to know real love
Always a slave to fear

Hearts of electric neon
Beating to belong
Creating sparks of blue
Proven to be true

Touch as fingers lock
This thrill to shock
Lips tenderly try
On voltage so high

Glowing like stars above
Plugged into love
Forever to entwine
Allowed to always shine

In empty pages and stark contrast the storm chased away the weak now alone I stand.
The hero a pawn truth cast aside for others cause .
We embrace solutions where  no problems exist.

May the colors run red from forgotten cause and history be erased for the sake of all that must be forever mundane.

I wish only to drag you to the depths and leave you to linger where nothing but a child's logic can remain
In spider webs we threw are thoughts now tangled the words left to wither in passing days.

May we dance in empty halls to illuminate the shadows and create the ghosts for others to place there hopes of what never shall be again.

To silence the voice is but closing the chapter  to spite the clear view .
Nothing stands a statue for the promise of tomorrows decay and the ******* will parade there ignorance as the simple minded spread a plague to which we are losing this battle.

I write for no one to read and all to judge.
Where's the laughter now the jester  is asked in ruins of a kingdom now simply reduced to ruble.

I remember what you will never taste and you may judge but waters tasted pure beats the stolen verses and burrowed lines of a time I no longer care to understand.

And Time passed me as it will pass you just the same .

May the silence remind you of that which never was to be.

We all will know this place someday.
Mind splintered into pieces
Isolated, it never ceases
Still nobody seems to know
Useless thoughts still grow
Never anyone comes near
Drenched into hidden fear
Endless eyes keep watching me
Rending me further into misery
Something snaps inside my head
Time stops, my soul feels dead
Only if someone could understand
Of this emptiness into another land
Drifting me into feeling misunderstood

As Santa your hear lots of things

of what children want as gifts

Some can't tell me what they want

But I think I get their drifts

They'll ask for dolls and games and stuff

And they'll ask me really  nice

It's not hard to find their favorite gift

since it's one they'll mention twice.

One year I had a bunch of kids

who came in to the mall

And until I met this one group

I thought I'd seen it all

I've done this job for twenty years

And things might seem the same

The toys out there that are alike

one that has another name

The kids all stay consistent

And many scream and  many cry

Although you know I just don't know

Though I've oftern wondered why

The girls want dolls, the boys want guns

And all of them forget

That the real meaning of Christmas is

the one they've not learned yet

They walk around and stop and stare

Before they get in line

Then they still act slightly nervous

Although they really know it's fine

to sit upon this strangers lap

And tell him your desires

For this man has Christmas Magic

And it's all that he requires.

Well, one year I sat and watched some kids

as they walked about the store

I saw them first at one o'clock

And now it's nearly four,

For three full hours they all watched

As other children cried

Two got in the line one time

But one stood to the side.

More time passed before this group

Came to share their Christmas list

But nary one child spoke a word

I thought, "there's something here I've missed"

I gave them each a candy cane

And I asked about some toys

I talked about some dolls and games

And things that made strange noise

But, they stood and stared quite thoughtfully

And they didn't make a sound

I looked to see if in the back

Their parents were around

When all at once the three stepped forth

and all held out one hand

And in their unfurled fingers

They held a plastic army man

A woman then stepped forward

saying "Santa, they won't speak"

"They've all been silent since last May"

"They've not spoken since that week"

"They just know their father's left them

and they think that it's their fault

that their father isn't here at home

And their crying just won't halt"

I pulled the children closer

And I said I'd do the best I can

To get them what they wanted

A real live soldier man

The little one stepped forward

And she didn't make a fuss

When she said " Santa Claus can you please...

I want  a soldier for Christmas!"

I knew I couldn't help her

But I said that he'd be back

When he'd finished all his service

He return home from Iraq.

It was then you know it hit me

Christmas meant much more than toys

There was one thing more important

To this little girl than toys

Now when children stand there silent

and they stare and look at me

And they stand there like a statue

I just think about these three

Who wanted something special

Something nobody could buy

And I hope they gottheir soldier

And he's safe home, by and by.

I hope our soldiers all get home

And they're safe and are alright

Now, Merry Christmas to all

And to all a good night!
