Death

Brianna Elise
So profound was the stillness,
And heavy was the dark,
I could not rise and see the morning.
So piercing was the silence,
So clamorous was the void,
It pricked my ears like needles
And drew me near with siren song.
A shadow in the darkness,
I crept thoughtless towards the empty.
It wrapped me in clandestine,
And dragged me into the obscure.
A sleep from whence there is no wake,
A night without a dawn,
A place where twilight kisses dusk,
And all light dies in silence.

DIFFERENT

We are far too different

I live for the rush
The danger and adventure

You live with a plan
The stability and foundation

But yet we both yearn for the kisses
That only come at 2am
And the I love you's
That have all the depth to them
That there ever could

When we are together
The planets align
And the moon calls our name
I cannot think straight
With your hot lips pressed to mine

We are far too different

Yet we are perfectly put together
And I wouldn't trade you for the world

hands shaking
and lips trembling
i crave your hips on mine
push into me
and satisfy my lust
your wet lips meet my body
leaving marks
purple and blue
you don't hesitate to claim me yours

my turn too satisfy
my warm tongue meets your neck
leave little trails down your chest
to your hips
all the way down
i will start from bottom to top
form my mouth around you
spread my warmth to your body
won't stop till we're both shaking

push me down and take charge
pin me against the wall
come into me and press against me
hard
lay me on the bed
lick me
move your tongue fast
allow my nails to scratch your back
dig into you
my moans encourage you to go more
driving me insane
making me shake uncontrollably

i pull you up hard
and take all of you in me
matching your thrusts
going as fast as we can
as hard as we can
thrusting our hips
drenched and heated
we melt into each other

Happy

What is happy?

It's having low expectations
And not caring
About anything
But yourself

But I care about you
And I expected us to be
Something it never was

What is happy?

It's trying to walk
Even though
You know your legs
Are broken
But making sure
Everyone sees how hard
You are trying

Hands
 Aug 2014 Carley
r
Those things these hands have held
gently -textured care-
tactile curiosities
life's measure

A small, blue bird's egg
broken -sadly-
mocking nature's symmetry

Ice
cold -cold-
water making shape

A stone arrow point
sharp still -old-
black as death

My mother's hand
warm -caring-
now long gone

A small dog
wiggling -happy-
nipping, licking fingers

A woman
smooth -soft-
curving heat

My son
my son, my son -my son-
now grown, love unmeasurable

A coin
gold -only-
worth little

Those things these hands have held
measured -treasured-
memorized
lifelines.

Walt Whitman
O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck,
You’ve fallen cold and dead.

My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will;
The ship is anchored safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

Yorick?
 Aug 2014 Carley

We knew him well
his jest
most excellent
alas, not infinite

Where be your gibes now?
Your gambols? Your songs?
Your flashes of merriment,
that were wont
to set the table on a roar?
(Hamlet, V.i)

We laughed,
we cried
amused and touched

Borne on your back,
anguish unspoken

Poor Yorick.
