I love it when she’s blue,
I love it when she’s gold,
I love it when she’s silver,
I love it when she’s cold,
I love it when she’s quiet,
I love it when she’s bold,
I love it when she’s calm,
I love it when she folds
I love her for her secrets,
I love her for her songs,
I love her for her rights,
I love her for her wrongs,
I love it when she moves me,
When she pulls me,
When she soothes me,
I love it when she’s red,
I love it when she’s gray,
I love it when she’s mine,
I love it when she strays,
I love her for her warmth,
I love her for her stare,
I love her for her depths,
I love her for her care.
I’m in love with ocean. Her beauty, her grace. The secrets she harbors, the life she gives to all creatures. I love the way she holds me & makes me feel free. I am euphoric, I can see her now. No caps because I am truly meek in her presence.

Everyone now knows
The unforgettable date
That took so many lives
And determined so many peoples fate

"Sit down students
watch T.V
This is important information
Which effects you and me"

"Is this a movie?"
"Is this for real?"
"Look at those plane,
they're aiming to ****!"

All of a sudden
There was a sound
"Look at the building,
it's starting to fall down!"

No one was certain
No one full knew
The gravity of the situation
Which grew and grew

A few minutes later
Another building was struck
Seems like the United States
Just ran out of luck

When the situation diminished
Lots of people cried
Mourning over their loved ones
That didn't survive
United we stood
Standing as one
Recovering from the incident
That had much damage done

This poem was inspired by the Ballad of Birmingham by Dudley Randall

I'm not conceited
I'm not cocky
I'm just confident
There's a difference between these three
I believe I can be whatever I want to be
Whatever I set my mind to be I will achieve
In the future I will succeed
It's not that I have lots of greed
I just want to be able to get what I need
I want to be known for something good
Not just for some girl who lived in the hood
I love my attitude, my personality
I bet people wish they could be more like me
Like I said before I'm not cocky
I just tell it how it is and that's the way it be
I love my inspiration, my determination
my motivation, my relation
My relationship with God
the one who allows me to see the way I see
Without Him there would be no me
The me I love so dearly

For some reason I don't have many happy or uplifting poems, but every once and a while one finds its way to my head. :)

Loneliness is a jar of candy
Except there's no candy inside
And nothing there to take its place
The emptiest feeling of all time
When placed around a crowd of people
No one sees you because you're clear
And when you try to speak
They act as if they can't hear
So you stay in one place
But still no one can see
The expression on your face
Which is there because you're empty
The stillness of your body
The coldness of the glass
You wish this desolate moment
Would hurry up and pass
The vacant darkness
That lurks by your side
No way to run from it
No where to hide

One Person
One room
One million thoughts
No one to tell
No one who cares
The sound will only be heard within my ears
I speak the truth
but it is not heard
the feeling of emptiness
lies in my words
I stare in a daze
Nothing in sight
I could stare in this daze
All through the night
Inside of me
You will see
The darkness
That shouldn't be
You touch my skin
It feels ice cold
You look at me
I look one hundred tears old
It is amazing what happens
When no one's there
The consequences are strange
When you're afraid to share
If you remember anything
Remember this
One thing you never want to feel
Is loneliness

It’s dark outside
I don’t know why
It’s not too late
But I’m not going out
The wind is blowing
So very hard
If I go out
The storm would take me away
So I’ll stay in
Until the storm goes away
This is the first poem I wrote (that I can recall). I wrote it in fifth grade and figured I'd share it here.

Amongst the smudges I see a hidden face
Round in shape and trying to peak through
A story to tell but was once erased

Conclusions about a face that someone else drew
Secrets inside but tucked deep away
A story of time that was misconstrued

The solemn lips parted as to say
If only you'd ask you'd be surprised what you could learn
A pity the lips were not molded from clay

To withstand time making this story easy to discern
All ambiguity removed nothing left to gauge
But now this phantom creature is left to yearn

Silently dying to pour her story upon the page
But content with waiting to be inquired
Forever subjected to be in this cage

A beautiful specimen destined to be admired
Until the next becomes inspired

I did a mini exercise to write in specific styles to try to and break from my typical rhyme scheme. This was my Terza Rima attempt
