Time became a part of us ever since we learned how to read it
We put it on our wrists, nail it on our walls, and hold it in our phones.
It is an entity we gave meaning to, we gave importance to,
And we're either chasing or wasting it.

When I was a kid, I had a hard time reading time
I got confused if the short hand pointed at the hours or the minutes
Or if the long hand pointed at the minutes or hours.
Eventually, I learned and realized it's not much of a big deal as it was when I was learning it.
It became a part of  my life.

Love and time have some things pretty much in common.
Love became a part of us ever since we learned how to read it,
what it meant,
how it felt.
We put it in our hearts, we nail it in there, we hold it with our body.
It is an entity we give much meaning and importance to,
And we're either chasing or wasting it.

And we're all little kids still trying to learn what love is,
what it means,
how it feels.

Funny thing is, love and time also differ from each other.
Eventually, we learn what love is,
what it means,
how it feels.
And some of us would realize it was a big part of our lives even after we've learned it.
It became a part of our soul.

You then learn that, unlike time, love can be waited.
Love doesn't have to be always chasing or wasting.
It can be waited.
This is a poem about time and love.

Trying to write again once I get the gist. So bear with the rustiness of words used or structure whatever.

Sit alone with your thoughts for just ten minutes. You might realize that there is nothing scarier then what crawls around your mind.

the stars were trying
to impersonate
your eyes tonight,
and art is trying
to make someone
love you,
the stars and art
were so convincing
that it made me vow
to cherish you
like you are
the most expensive
piece of art
and the most
unreachable star
that ever existed.

You spit out
a dry laugh
to try to hide
the death
in your eyes.

The desert
you call a soul
is so full
of memories
that *****
your mind
like cactuses
drawing pieces
of your happiness
like blood.

You try
to wash away
the reflection
in the mirror
with the salty rivers
pouring through
your tear ducts,
but that only blurs
your view
of reality.

You use your blade
to paint a more beautiful life
on your thighs
with crimson hopes
that someone will notice.

The happiness
of the life
you once had known
is buried deep
in the graveyard
of your thoughts
but the skeletons
you keep
in your closet
are in full view.

You dress them
in armor
and they fight off
the love of the ones
who care for you
like an elite force
of warriors determined
on destroying
the foreign feeling
of compassion.

You try to replace
the feeling of love
with the lust
of boys who's tongues
whip you with lies.

You plead with
every God
you have
ever heard of
every single night
to save you
from the darkness
but the doubt
in your heart
snuffs out their light.

Every day
you **** off
another piece
of your self
with the sword
of depression
leaving an
empty shell
of a person
in your place.

When are you going
to realize that
you're my reflection
and I'm trying
to shatter the mirror?
penny for a thought?

You are the chlorine, stinging my eyes
You are the one I most despise
If people were rain, you'd be acidic
The thought of you makes me sick

But

You are the blood flowing through my veins
You are the one my heart claims
If people were rain you'd fall in the warm summer air
The way you make me feel... well that's not fair

I need to wipe this
smile off my face.
But I can't when it was
created by you.

or do you?
you can feel it
when it fills you
and then it spills you
on a page
like life over-run
with nowhere to go
and then it's done.
look down and see
words arranged like
turmoil, a mess.
do I dare pass it on
or even read it?
some do.
they're poets.
Why not, right?
