I'm confident when I say hello and goodbye
I've never been young, I died once or twice
Still believing it improves overtime
Growing up is taking a while

Start caving in and take all your stuff
It's always too much much and never enough
I'm waiting for them to stop caring about me
That way it'll be easy

You can feel it if you try
The frantic movement of my eyes
Some ***** feeling that lingers
I ripped the skin off my fingers

Tell me how you do that thing
When you talk I hear feeling
While my words remain unfinished

Invincibility

So many people are living lives that they're not in love with, && I've just never quite understood that.

How much exactly
did it cost to sell your soul?
At what point did you decide,
"this is now my life until I'm old"

The truth is we're all invincible,
until the day we're not
We've got to live our lives to the fullest,
for it's only one that we've got

To go about our days,
meandering in the mundane
Is surefire the best way,
to drive ourselves insane

We're meant to be free thinkers;
artists, writers, && musicians
Making the world a better place
should be our only aim && mission

Be kind to one another
We're all in this together
It's funny how the things that divide us
Are also the same ones that tether

Us to this forsaken planet
Feeling like we're broken
When at any given moment
Kind words can be spoken

Falling from our lips
&& lifting others' hearts
We all have the capacity to make a difference
It's just a matter of choosing to start
Today a friend of mine said to me "We are all invincible, 'til we die." This poem was inspired by that statement.

Give an inch, we'll take a mile, steal a glimpse of a faded smile. Set a path, we'll make another, find where lies have taken cover. Minds never set in stone, we've created thoughts our own. Words lost, as time goes by, in the end they'll wonder why. Now that love's become outdated, you'll find the world that hate's created.

Boredom

Boredom is a rabbit hole
that we walk around
day to day

Until we fall
and let out all
that routine hides away

Our minds are open and wanting
“Feed me, feed me now!”
so our desk-drawer minds
are rummaged inside
and flipped over
upside down

The piece of the conversation
that you overheard last vacation
turns into the song that
they sing along to
and makes you a hit sensation

What a mess this
success is
You’ve left them wanting more

So where’s your sound?
you climb out of the ground
and wait again ‘til you’re bored.

Boredom is a wet, white wall
you could wait until it’s dry
but if you lick
the paint that sticks the
fumes will get you high

Floating, floating
rock the boat we
sail on eggshell seas

‘Round off-white pass
this high won’t last
we reach for rainbow trees

The colors fill our irises
we’re left with small blank canvases

Blown out pupils
let the light in
four walls dry but
we’re high fiving
right out of this boring room
destined to return so soon.
A lot of people think I was on drugs while writing this:P but really I just appreciate boredom, because without it we wouldn't have creativity.

You stand in the darkness of the shadow cast
By the bright light of the future as it collides with the past.
You can't peek around to determine the source--
And here in the present they define your course.

Meeting Myself

I never did fit very well;
Don't ask me why, it's hard to tell.
Actually, that was a lie.
I could explain the reasons why...
But the story's very long
And I tend to go on and on,
Over explaining everything,
The cause and effect each aspect brings.
And so long will my tale get
That you'd probably miss the point of it.
But at the end of the day, all said and done
I wasn't liked by anyone.
Okay, I have a tendency
To speak in hyperboles:
Perhaps a few didn't mind
My presence from time to time.
But overall, in the grand scheme,
I wasn't a favorite amongst the team.
A little strange. A little odd.
Introversion my great flaw.
Or at least I believed
That the problem laid in me.
But only now that I have gone
Have I thought that, maybe, everyone was wrong.

Stare at my feet--
Bite my tongue;
Habits learned when I was young.

Smile more--
Sit up taller;
Lessons taught when I was smaller.

Calm down--
Don't be so wild;
Words used to tame the child.

He loves
with rapt attention
his nearest neighbor
an unattainable beauty
a temptress
veiled in aquamarine
and evergreen
she has forever been
his only muse

he reaches
invisible fingers
across the void
seeking warm earth
against the bone
chilling blackness
for he cannot
turn to face
the sun

she is breathless
beneath his fullness
her every landscape
willingly unfurls
his forceful touch
swings her tide
from crest to ebb
she can only spin
in ecstacy

she memorizes
each scar
on his luminous skin
for she is wise
to his lunar ways
love that borrows light
to show its face
is surely meant
to wane

The subtle buzz of recognition,
High pitched squeak of a hello.
The gentle hum of conversation,
Small talk with friends you barely know.

A small acquaintance fills the silence,
Keeps you from fiddling on your phone.
But it breeds only temporary compliance,
And I would rather sit alone.

Destroyed. Distraught.
I've cried. A lot.
You're fine. I'm not.
