Anchor of Agony
Yanni Nacpil Sep 2014
The anchor of agony pulls me down
I tried to struggle and get myself out
but when I do
the chains go tight
and the wounds form
and that, I cannot hide
my lungs close tighter
like your embrace would ever be
crushing my bones
and bruising my ribs.
as I try to breathe
it's your mouth that I see
white dots form
my eyes close tight
as I drown with my last thoughts.

You are the moon
Yanni Nacpil Sep 2014
You are the moon
that listens to me
at 4 am
when I lie on my back,
looking at the ceiling
thinking
how we could have been,
how we were supposed to be.
But then again,
you are the moon
and I'm the human
and we're million miles apart.
I wish we were closer

Earthquakes
Yanni Nacpil Sep 2014
YOU SHOOK MY WORLD
LIKE EARTHQUAKES
THAT CANNOT BE TAMED
YOU WERE THAT MAGNITUDE
THAT I WAS LOOKING OUT FOR
THAT I WAS WARNED ABOUT FOR
BUT I STILL WELCOMED YOU
OPEN TOED
UNTIL YOU SHATTERED ME
AND SWALLOWED ME
UP THE GROUND

Late Night Thinking
Yanni Nacpil Sep 2014
Whenever I see you,
I always think the city lights
will never be enough to
provide the joy you bring.
The lovely paintings
becomes abstract when you pass by,
You make the painters think,
what art really is.
Am I lucky? I guess.
You loved me.
But sadly,
It was temporary.

burned

kiss me until you feel the burning sensation that burned your tongue like hot coffee that no one warned you about
