TO PUT the art and talent of Mindanaoan fashion design into the spotlight, Kagay’anon fashion designers put their hands together to organize the 5th Mindanao Fashion Summit at the Limketkai Center Rotunda from August 4 to 6, every 4 p.m. “Being a core event of the Higalaay festival, the opening salvo, the Mindanao Fashion Summit can really highlight fashion designers here in Cagayan de Oro and also in different points of Mindanao to let everyone see what they can do in the world of fashion design especially now that there are only so few opportunities for these designers to show off their works to the public. This is why we have the Mindanao fashion Summit because Kagay-anon designers believe that even if they join national fashion shows like the Philippine Fashion week, most of them still aren't getting the right encouragement as a fashion designer.” said Robbie Pamisa, the overall organizer of the event. The Fashion Summit is a three-day event composed of seven sub-categories such as the Mindanaoan collection, the Menswear collection, and the Ororama orange collection for the first day, the Guest Designers’ collection, the Fashion Institute of the Philippines collection and the Loop Lifestyle Fashion Show for the second day, and the Holiday Grand collection for the third day which will serve as the culmination of the fashion event. Mindanaoan Fashion designers from Cagayan de Oro as well as Davao, Butuan, Iligan, and Bukidnon have come to showcase their talents. Some of the fashion geniuses of the event include Alma Mae Roa, Angela Soriano, Ann Semblante, Benjie Manuel, Boogie Musni Rivera, Gil Macaibay III, John Mark Magellan’s, Joshua Guibone, Juniel Doring, Kiko Domo, Mark Christopher Yaranon, and Mavy Cooper de Leon. One of the highlights of the event is the Oro Fashion Designers’ Guild and the Designers Assembly featuring a collection of clothes using Mindanao material such as the Mindanao silk. Sponsors such as Ororama and The Loop Towers will also be showcasing their products in the fashion event. “Even student fashion designers from the Fashion Institute of the Philippines have been encouraged to participate so that they will be able to experience how a fashion show works. This is also a way for us to fulfill our mission to be another avenue for fashion designers to show what they have,” Paisa said.Read more at:http://www.marieaustralia.com/short-formal-dresses | www.marieaustralia.com/long-formal-dresses

Message from a grieving younger brother
I am a thousand different things I'm people, objects, nature, animal I'm woman, man, girl, boy, child toddler, baby, foetus I'm all you could dream of (not) wanting I'm all you wish you were (not) I'm (your) anger, sadness, fear, regret I'm (your) happiness, joy, hope, love When I write, I'm a character fiction, autobiographical, biographical I'm lived, burned, broken, insane I'm madness, virginal, loose, free closeted, bi-curious, let's wait it out and see I'm intrigue, a passer by, I'm the observer, the observed, voyeurism, peeping tom, negative film Moss, McQueen, Klein I'm art, symbolism, post-modernism, I'm poetry; written and spoken I'm the woman you read of; her I'm the girl who made you cry I'm full to the brim of (your) inspiration I open doors to the past, then slam the door in your bright doe eyes I close doors to my future, and sneak back through cracks in the floor, just to get back I laugh in your face, and burn holes in skin at your absence I kick dirt in my eye, then cry wolf blinded, I'm the severest of contradictions, I say yes at no, no to yes, I decide on impulse, and cry on cue Beauty, romance, love, lust poetry, all the questions I am made of I answer in the written word mute, You only know me, (if of course you dare) by reading my rhymes, (non judgmental stance) and loving me regardless, (don't expect perfection) If you're going down the same road start today, face your demons, be the contradiction. © Sia Jane -- *"So unimpressed but so in awe Such a saint but such a ***** So self aware so full of **** So indecisive so adamant So rock and roll, so corporate suit So **** ugly, so **** cute So well-trained, so animal So need your love, so **** you all"* Robbie Williams - Come Undone

I'm ****** off with Robert Frost And the guy who wrote Paradise Lost. I ain't happy with Aristotle, And especially John, the weird Apostle. Don't mention, please, Shelley or Keats, Blake, Byron or Yeats; Each and every one you see, (if you're ready for some truth) Took their themes from me. Don't look aghast, Don't tsk and titter, Their thievery's left me Mean and bitter. Just because they said it first, Doesn't mean I find it just. It doesn't give them ownership Of my themes and authorship. I write of Roads, Good and Evil, God and Satan, love and leaving. I know I'm internally bleating, But I can't abide this metric beating. Although they're merely dust and bones, They don't have the right to own All the great lines I have sown: The best laid plans of mice and men. (I said that before Robbie Burns). Let me make this poeticaly clear; ***If I was there, or he were here, I'd sue the *** of Will Shakespeare***.

Robbie
There is a Professor Robbie, who has a calculating hobby; He delights in asking his pets, with multiple inherent defects, or not too brainy, to be exact. If 2n is more or less than 2-n, and 3x is same as 3 men, then, the study of maths be banned. With that Robbie will surely object, for he makes a living on the subject; He takes not too kindly our slow wit, and chips away our esteem, digit-by-digit. Equations after equations, he blast, until one brave pet, at long last, who sees more value in a candy bar, than juggling numbers to solve algebra. So Robbie, will you be ever so kindly, spare the aging cells of these cuties, singularly or simultaneously. So loose no healthy slumber, by chasing after prime-numbers; And we who have trouble with dy or dx, well, there is always graphic *** If you think this -- dX+2(x^2 - x*y^2)dy=0 -- is cool, to make idiots out of fools, do not be easily trapped, into giving polite claps; or stare at them with awe, for they are nothing more, than saying pluses can turn into minuses, and at times even used as voodoo curses. But Robbie will still caress them tenderly, like they are his little babies, annoying different people, differentially.

When You Get Lost [Hoku] (Shelton-Narnia, CT 4/5/13)
Starlight shines from limousines On the streets of Monte Carlo But I'd prefer a cup of tea In a caff with Gary Barlow. He'd draw inspiration from The drabness of the venue And weave sweet melodies around The items on the menu. Spreading sounds of happiness Around the greasy spoon. He may be a chub-a-lub But he sure can write a tune. I could take him back to mine To feast on milk and cookies. Watching pirate DVDs In my flat above the bookies. I would part the curtains So the jealous neighbourhood Saw me ****** rewarding The blond scribe of 'Back for Good'. He could climb atop me Like he mounted Kilimanjaro Everything changes forever Once you've tasted Gary Barlow. Down to earth despite his millions Cuddlier than Robbie Williams. Looking pensive in a vest, Gary Barlow is the best.

I decided it's Valentine's Day. Unequivocally! And it's a Saturday! Saturdays are my absolute relative favorite. Always have been, I think...           See, up until "yesterday" I thought it might have been almost a year since the whole time thing. I look older, that's for sure. Measured myself up on the kitchen notches and I'm just about as tall as Derrick was when he was 13-- which isn't much, we're a short family. Dad topped-off at 5' 7" and was super lucky to find my mom. She was 5' 7" as well but hated heels. Anyway, though, it could be less than a year. It gets really confusing with the sun always in the same spot, which is why I decided it's Valentine's Day. And it's Saturday!  I've already cut a picture of Howdy Doody and put it on the TV.            Okay Doc, that's all. Just wanted to wish you a Happy Valentine's Day. Might move my bed up to the attic to get a better view of the everlasting day.                                                                                                     Sincerely,                                                                                                Robbie Wilson

It’s 1:30am and we were at a cute little dance club in Dublin called “The Sugar Club.” It’s a converted movie theater with tables in stadium seating rows. That night was Salsa themed, and the regulars were stylin’ - the men dressed in white Havana or Colima, Italian Linen and women in bright salsa dresses. The DJ was mixing a gr8 groove - with music from Bassia, Brazilian Girls, Kate the Cat, with some ElectroSwing thrown in from Tape Five, Pink Martini and Doja Cat (Yes, I asked the DJ for his playlist). The tiny, darkly-disco-sparkling dance floor was crowded and refrigerator cold. We had a good time. Irish guys are funny and unpredictable, they’ll say practically anything, “Shall I buy you a drink, or do you just want the money?” and those brogues make everything they say spankin’ hot. We all danced a few times, but Sunny’s a gwyn who never seemed to tire. Guys kept asking her to dance and she seemed happy to oblige - I would have collapsed already. There was a dead-fit guy, Rían, throwing a strong Chris Evans vibe, who seemed completely smitten with Sunny. He seemed a real dean but he didn’t 404 that Sunny’s femme-facing and that he might as well be offering lettuce to a shark. We’d discussed the possibility that things might come up and decided to avoid delicate public acts of disclosure (Sunny’s gay, Leong’s a communist, etc..) - we’re trespassing different cultures on this trip, after all. We explained to Rían that we were students, just in town for the Duran Duran concert, and consoled him with a couple of “Black & Golds” (Kahlua, whiskey and orange bitters) - he was a LOT of fun to talk to. The bartender asked me if I was one of the colleens with “Margot Robbie” - he was referring to Lisa - which Anna found amusing - but I think Lisa’s way phater than Margot.

I didn't take a photograph of the statue of Robert Burns. His sightless eyes were looking out over Dunedin, the most Scottish town in the southern hemisphere, and there was a seagull, not a pigeon, standing on his head. I would have called it "Robbie Burns and Friend." And I didn't take a picture of the bus shelter painted all over with jungle foliage and a tiger peeping out over the simulated signature of Henri Rousseau. The title would have been "This Bus Shelter is a Forgery." Neither did I photograph another painted wall, one round a cemetery full of ornate and sombre tombs, with a large and skilfully executed advertisement - Renta Sanitarios Mobiles (Hire Mobile Toilets). It would have been called "Is there no Respect for the Dead?" I didn't take the photo of a Fijian policeman. A pity, for he had such a practical uniform, very smart and cool, in a tasteful shade of policeman-blue, based on the traditional sulu with a striking zigzag hem. The title would have been "A Policeman in a Skirt?!" I couldn't take a photograph of sunset over Popocatépetl – although the sun was setting in a red and golden haze, and the most romantically named mountain is just what you imagine a perfect volcano should be, even to the wisp of steam at the peak – because the sun was actually setting over Ixtaccíhuatl and "Sunset over Ixtaccíhuatl" doesn't have quite the right ring The shape of the mountain is not very picturesque either. Yes, I would have called that one "Sunset over Popocatépetl" – if I could have taken it. My camera wouldn't focus on the crescent moon hanging over the Egyptian skyline, horns pointing up, so close to the Equator, and the evening star (Venus or some more ancient goddess) just above and almost between the points. If that one had worked it would have been called "Islamic Moon." I couldn't possibly have taken a photograph that would do any justice to the young piano student in a Hungarian castle hammering out Liszt as if the hounds of hell were after her, but if I could, I would have had to call it "Apassionata." And I didn't even have time to get my camera out to take a picture of the wild humming bird darting green and unconcerned among dilapidated tenements in the heart of Mexico City. But that living jewel shines bright in my memory, even without a photo. I don't know what I would have called that one, and I'm sure it doesn't matter.

For My Moma On Her Birthday
If, Mother washed her pinny And father never swore, If, Jimmy went to the loo Instead of on the floor, If, Our Sammy didn't turn up In his underpants for tea, If, Our granddad would keep his flies done up Phoo, that's an awful sight to see, If, Gran's teeth refused to fall out When she dropped off to sleep, If, My sister didn't steal my razor This beard I wouldn't keep, If, That copper had only looked the other way Our Robbie wouldn't be spending time in jail today, If, Our Lucy had bothered to learn the facts of life Eight kids wouldn't be here now causing so much strife, If, We all stopped smoking **** And swilling beer till we were sick This family would be smart, very elegant and slick Heather P Wilson..........http://www.heatherpwilsonpoems.com/
