"habitations" poems
A populace filled with totalitarian tranquility The supposition that the world is in a harmonic homeostasis Blissful ignorance that leads to careless calamity Amid the uproar of the most populated of places Therein lies the seed of humanity’s deceptive destruction A solitary host housing a virulent virus Infectious disease that proceeds crisis and corruption Hope only stands with the powerful and pious Prognosis describes communicable cannibalism Rabid outbursts show signs of voracious violence The harrowing pandemic leads to ceaseless cataclysm Cities and towns suspended in systemic silence Habitations riddled with gratuitous gore Hope fades in the wake of the crimson carnage The pestilent hoard feeds to a glutton’s galore The Author of humanity publishes the final page The closing verse rains down a rapturous recompense The high cost of a dense population paid at humanity’s existential expense

Affliction’s Assimilation
wandering across the splinters of squandered seasons the Hajj of the lost ones completes a broken circle returning with hope to burrow back into the safety of desecrated graveyards welcomed home to the embrace of a cadaverous cloak and the kiss of carrion smudged lips, Hajji's eye the decrepit visage of criminal depravity germination of this Arab Spring mocks us aromas of jasmine elude us emulsified concrete clogs our nostrils burning eyes filled with asbestos dust form grateful blinders to the ruination of reason betrayed arcane remnants of our life lay inert in the open ****** of fractured habitations amidst jumbled rubble the decaying carcasses of razed buildings boast grotesque sculptures of twisted rebar cradling artifacts of a past life pink hair curlers splashed with sickly blood grown mold scavenged bicycles limp on banished parts smashed skulls of dolls weep, her dismembered limb reaches for a lost child’s nursing hand the charred remains of a Persian rug maps the scale of a city’s deconstruction and a frayed regions disconsolation electric luxury flowing water the friendly bustle of the street bespeak expired memories foretelling an unimaginal future sectarian strife enforces  a communal solitary confinement in cold blood we willingly murdered compassion we butchered trust we euthanized our common humanity constructing buildings is easy rebuilding ourselves impossible Music Selection: Segovia, Capricho Arabe Oakland 5/13/14 jbm

Return to Homs
Death stole a soul from its earthly place no other can fill the empty place for thirty years each one gave A little and then a little more in time mathematics over ruled and was disallowed two became one. The heart Of love ever watchful try as you may the bond unseen unshakeable unbreakable this spouse this was the Only house my soul has found unending rest within these walls our ease measureless as infinity. We can Search earth and universe but not one glimpse, it was one of a kind just one face. Commitments watchful eye never allowed disorder steal away even while surrounded by friends these Eyes fixed to yours through them pour each moment love’s torrent we go to distant habitations passing On always to carefree laughter oh this stronghold our union has made only lions know these privileged Paths we walk together hand in hand a man and a woman who tasted fruit as it had to be back in Eden Purest delight no dark turning only the light drenching quenching every longing. Time was the banner unfurled our covering protecting shield over head rain and sun deflected as we Strolled past ruins of former days then it spoke softly of permanent connections that always flowed into Promise filled tomorrows to soon it would speak of unbearable sorrow. The one would be left only as a Half plunged from brightest light into darkest gloom, people still stir and go about their business I walk By them they are whole while I walk in half light and I am blinded and confused once everything made Sense. Now only senseless starved for a single meaning anything to stop the pain. Moving forward is the only constant it leads to only more desperate pleadings that go unheard through Black and twisted dead wasteland I feebly stumble I see you momentarily only to have you vanish if only I could pass into the forgotten world where memories were unlawful and strictly enforced but then I would lose you again no soul could survive that torment. Though tears flow unbidden in them you are Alive they hold within their fiery drops the unquestionable hope of that eternal tomorrow.

So, it came to pass in those days the last of the wild things crept into their dens, caves, nests and burrows, and passed from the knowledge of man. The fish stopped swimming and the birds...stopped flying, the flowers stopped blooming and man noticed not. In those days, the sea died and the land became sterile except for the places kept alive by force. And all that remained living, was suffered to exist in order to feed, clothe or amuse mankind. Their abodes spread like a blight across the surface of the earth and the light from their habitations blotted out the stars but no one looked skywards. And in those days, God bowed his head and disowned his creation but man ignored his orphanage. There was nothing left divine, just profits and loss and everything had a price but nothing value. Then one night a freak accident happened the lights went out and the stars appeared. Great men ran in the streets weeping in fear at the unknown sky. They were certain that the end had come. Slack jawed they stood there staring, until they realized that their all powerful machines had fallen silent and the world was quiet. No breeze caressed their cheek. No wind rustled through the trees for there were no trees, and no birds sang, not even a funeral dirge. There were no ripples on the pond or waves upon the sea, just the silence of the dead. And in that time, man understood what he had done and understood he was alone. He hung his head to cry and none were there to sympathize. His heart ached at the knowledge of his fate. So it came to pass in those days that the ***** of man failed and lust died. And mankind, shamed before his own eyes bowed his head and walked into the void unmourned.

Humans have long trespassed and destroyed animal territories. Humans have poached And selfishly encroached upon animal habitats, felling trees to build human habitations. Now the tables were turned Humans quarantined in house arrest, while some lie sick in bedrest So animals not usually seen had a fields day roaming upon roads, crossing the streets. Reclaiming the once jungle lands turned into concrete urban jungles. It's better that busy humans now become photoholic than forever queueing in lines of heavy traffic. Without human pollution, nature is all the more photogenic Mother nature all a creation of God has now had many of us grounded as she gives us a hiding while we go into hiding. Extraordinary turn of events indeed!! In several countries round the world: Discos and casinos vacated Pubs and nightclubs evacuated Bars shutdown for lockdown People are behind bars instead of guzzling beer in bars and instead of animals behind bars. Humans compelled to hibernate so animals busted their cell gate Priorly animals were in an enclosure Now they are getting free exposure Self-centred humans cared mostly about themselves but now the animal kingdom is the cynosure. Animals were shut in cages while now human activity is under similar closure. Ah, this corona crisis! Is all this mercenary stasis for humans a roasting nemesis? A heavy price to pay for rapacious carelessness and arrogance where humans acted like they are in control, like they are controllers of this planet and they could do anything they wish with it. It's ignorance to think all this is mere coincidence. Im relieved our Islamic prayers can be said any place, anywhere to kneel and bow to the one true real sustainer of the universe. We need to invoke and supplicate to the creator who is still in control... as prayer can really truly prevent fear and anxiety in such scary times.

A recap and recount of lockdown scenarios the world over
Humans have long trespassed and destroyed animal territories. Humans have poached And selfishly encroached upon animal habitats, felling trees to build human habitations. *even after season upon season of changing jobs and habitations in different states and even nations we can look at objects that trigger a sense of connective familiarity; but on any other given day they're just stuff, things that fill our lives; for instance that bottle of clairol or bar of dove, that tube of colgate exact same products at granny's house; shapes, smells, and sounds surround us, a nest, perfectly built: dry, warm & sturdy* ●○ •

safety of objects
We live in developed caves. That's what modern habitations are.

notes
In the basking warmth of the day Or the friendly coolness of night I hear the chorus from musicians Hidden in their habitations Away from plain sight A keen buzzing, rustling And rattling A long vibration that sounds like Prattling It's not useless chatter But an inviting call that will scatter Throughout the woods and hills Underneath the radiant infinity of sunshine Dancing in the wind Or in the mysterious moon lit darkness Unbounded and undisciplined The lively tenors awaken my senses A grandeur display that quickly dispenses Vigor and vitality Throughout my very bones Propelling my spirit upwards In a resonating tone

Summer Song
standing across more than a sea, with a supposedly related sky of the connate stars from the universe of the same creator. breathing similar air of different habitations, stepping on the inconsistent heights of land, swimming within unalike taste of sea waters and, out of millions beings that give: joy, sadness and, other emotions. i choose you.
