It is an anchor thickened with age
tiny fractures induced by love
do not lance its hardened core
scaled with the red rust of rage
it ensures I am uncared for

Infrangible are these chains
that have rendered me confined
interlocking coils I can’t seem to break
have inflicted immeasurable pain
and a lifetime of heartache

There are moments I believe I can soar
blinded by realistic illusions
I expand my wings and take flight
shocked disbelief as I crash once more
I lack sacred truth and simple insights

Do I give in and embody the tethers,
surrender to my self limitations and
buy the lies of this mortal mind?
Or stitch my brave heart back together
forever detached from the ties that bind?

Where are you are is where I need to be
Because you feel like home to me

Safe and warm curled under your arm
Hidden away from worldly harm

You put my anxious mind at ease
To my heart you have the keys

Don't wait
For a reason
That may never come
Be kind regardless--
It conceives love

Tell me 'bout your family
Tell me how you've been

Have you found your saving grace
With every act of sin

I hope you know, with every word
I am captivated

With every poem I've ever heard,
I have cultivated

A passing transaction
Of humble attraction
For you, my friend.

Tell me 'bout your heartache
Tell me how you feel

Have you ever seen a thing
So precious and surreal

I hope you know that you are loved
With no hesitation

With every song, I come undone
Accept my invitation

For conversation
With consideration
For you, my friend.

Tell me you won't leave me
Tell me we're not done

Please leave no words left unsaid
Or any song unsung

I hope you know this is the time
It's ours for the taking

With every hour, before you leave,
Just know that I'm making

A heartfelt pleading
Of hidden feeling
For you, my friend

Let's wait and see if this ever becomes a song. Who knows?... *shrug*

You came to me in a wave.
Emotion dances on the swirling tips , enticing me to drown  in your depths.
I am the sea .
I am swallowed, but I am free.

Take me as your waves retreat after crashing on the sand.
I have waited for you .
I am less without you .
I am the sea.
I am swallowed, but I am free.

Fire
You ripped it
my pretty little heart -
but that's okay because
now I can pin it
to a wall
and scream
This Is Art.
