Girl next door
Isaac afunadhula Jan 2021
I'm in love with the girl next door
she is pretty
My heart keeps falling for her
Even when l don't know her name
I can't describe these
feelings
A crush
An infatuation
At least it is not a hallucination
I'm in love with the girl next door
Today,she said hi to me
It was a golden moment for me
As l absorbed melodies from
her voice.
At least l now know her name
And will write my story
starting with her.

My Love
Isaac afunadhula Jul 2023
Days have passed by without a whisper
from your voice
I have searched and waited for your call
As i thought and thought on an empty bed
Hoping to meet in my dream
The reminiscence of your smile is all that is left
I only hope to make it in time before all that is
seizes to exist
In a world of two, where you and i belong

Lord here I'm take my heart and have it all
Steadfast and lead me to the way of hope
At Your feet I worship.
With expectations I come into your house singing hallelujah
Author of salvation all I need is You Lord
In praise I lay at Your feet with complete love and joy
What an amazing love manifested at the cross keeper of my heart

In the night it may seem dark but I will rise and stay at the Father's heart.

Beethoven
When in thy darkest depths of sorrow's night
Thy hearing failed, and silence took its toll
Thy music, once a flame that shone so bright
Didst seem to fade, as darkness didst unfold

Yet still, thy spirit unbroken didst stride
And in thy heart, a symphony didst reside
The melodies, a raging fire that didst provide
A solace from the pain, that thou didst abide

And when thou didst compose, thy music's might
Didst conquer all, and brought thee back to light
Thy art, a triumph o'er adversity's darkest night
Didst shine, a beacon bright, that guided thee to flight

And thus, thy legacy lives on, a timeless sound
That echoes through eternity, and shall forever resound.

Amongst men yet not as l
Oh You beloved abide in me that I may be sheltered under Your wings.

Whatever Is left
In the cartography of forgotten places
A topography of what's been erased
Lies a residue of what's past
A palimpsest of love and pain forever fast

In the archaeology of the soul
A stratigraphy of memories unfold
Like the rings of a tree, they tell a tale
Of seasons come and gone, of love that's failed

Whatever is left, it festers
A wound that refuses to heal
A scar that throbs with every heartbeat
A reminder of the fragility of our deepest retreat

Is it what l am or what l've become that people despise me for the less interest
A boy who lives with brown hair as he wanders trying to find his way back home

A boy who lives to tell a story to those that listen to his message.

Love is a beautiful thing
Though so hard to find
And if found so easy to lose
Because a few things could go
wrong
And before they get fixed,
It will be too late
To pick up the pieces and
remove the beautiful thing
I just hope to make it last
To have Rome in our lives
And an ocean full of smiles
From the lips to which l will
Woe for her heart
That through the silence and
Fights,we will connect our mistakes
And shape the future of
Us
That will go on and on
With time and never
Iosé it's shine.

Is it worth the time to wait out in the open just to be disappointed
Or
To hold onto something for a little while
What's it like then, if I lay hold of love only to have a better view and not let go
In the end, I still find no joy
If only I stood by the edge and found hope
I wouldn't wait more with urge to pen down these thoughts but rather step out of the dark to have a glimpse of light that comes with this valuable tressure
Mystery though one I wish to explore

Like l was on my own again
or maybe the world had ended
And it was only me left
My adrenaline levels Started rising,l thought living my solitary life
maybe l would make it though
I was wrong
The further l got lost in the darkness, the more frightened l got.
I guess l was caught up in a dome
That had been kept far from the
shine of the moon or the sun
maybe a test for my bravery
I took out a lighter to
put the light on.
some how l felt less alone.
The darkness no longer scarced me ,as l kept looking at the lighter
A round of applouse from an audience
I couldn't see
It was just an audition
In the dark
Some how l got the role.

Fractured Lights
In the aftermath of love's decay
I'm left to gather shards of yesterday
Memories that once shone bright and true
Now refract into a thousand points of pain anew

A careless touch can shatter the calm
And send the pieces of my heart into alarm
The echoes of what  was still linger on
A bittersweet reminder of love that's gone

In the silence, I hear the sound
Of fragments falling, like tears unbound
A heart that's broken, like the morning dew
A love that's lost, and all that's left to do

Is to sweep up the pieces, one by one
And hope that someday, the light will be won
A light that's fractured, but not yet gone
A love that's broken, but still lives on.

Love Lies
Your words, a gentle breeze that soothed my soul
Promises of forever, that made my heart whole
But like a summer's storm, your truth began to fade
Leaving me shattered, with a love that's been betrayed

In the mirror's gaze, a reflection stares
A fool who believed, in the love that you shared
The memories we made, now tainted with deceit
A heart that's broken, by the love lies you repeat

Your touch, a flame that burned with passion's fire
But behind your eyes, a secret desire
To manipulate and control, with every whispered lie
A heart that's manipulated, until it says goodbye

Yet, even in the ashes, a lesson can be found
To trust my instincts, and never again be bound
By the chains of love lies, that seek to deceive and harm
A heart that's wiser, and stronger, to love and to disarm.

Final Bow
A single nail, a fatal strike
The coffin creaks, the lid goes tight
A seal of fate, a destiny complete
The end of hope, the final defeat

The hammer falls, the sound echoes through
A death knell tolls, a dream dies anew
The weight of failure, the sting of pain
A heart once full, now empty, in vain

The nails of doubt, they pierced the heart
The nails of fear, they tore the soul apart
The nails of regret, they hammered home
The final blow, the last goodbye, alone....

How hard can l try to get a spot in your life?
what is it about you that keeps me chasing and guessing?
Is it  the way you talk or walk ? that my heart skips a little bit?

what's with moods that cry under the veil of an exquisite lady like you?

Hoping i would say hi, i rushed in eagerly
How wrong i was

Mean to your friends
Infact you were the devil himself
Who couldn't find love
Now l believe the saying
"Evil girls have the prettiest face"

2020 i felt happy once more to see you
You held my hand and asked me to walk you home
Blind as bat
I fell for you hoping that you had changed but who says people change you broke my heart for the second time .

A Garden Overgrown
I planted seeds of love in your eyes,
Tended the garden, with a lover's sighs.
I nurtured every bloom, every tender shoot,
But now the garden's overgrown, and I'm lost in its fruit.

The vines of passion, once so carefully pruned,
Now choke the beauty, that our love had tuned.
The flowers of hope, that bloomed in every place,
Now wither, like my heart, in this desolate space.

I watered the soil, with tears of devotion,
But the garden's grown wild, and my love's in motion.
It's a jungle of what-ifs, a tangle of pain,
A beauty that's lost, like the love that remains.

In this garden overgrown, I'm searching for a way,
To prune the heartache, to clear the path each day.
But the more I tend, the more it seems to grow,
This garden of love, that I nurtured, and now can't let go....

The Poet I Never Was
The words that never flowed from my pen
The rhymes that never danced upon my tongue
The verses that never sang with sweet refrain
The poet that I never was, forever young

In secret, I would scribble lines of fire
But fear and doubt would soon my dreams conspire
Against the page, my words would lose their might
And I, a silent poet, lost in endless night

Yet still, the muse would whisper in my ear
Of all the poems I would never write, the tears
I'd cry for all the verses left unspoken
The poet that I never was, my heart still broken

But even now, in dreams, I see myself anew
A poet, wild and free, with words that shine like dew
And though I never was, perhaps in some other life
I'll find the words to say, the poet that I'll be, in strife

Delusional love
In the mirror's silvered light, I see
A love that's not there, a fantasy
A reflection of what I want to be
A dream that's born of longing, not reality

Your eyes, a canvas of deceit
A masterpiece of manipulation, so sweet
Your words, a gentle breeze that soothes my soul
But behind the façade, a heart that's cold

I'm lost in the labyrinth of my mind
A maze of make-believe, where love's left behind
I'm chasing the shadows, the ghosts of our past
A love that never was, a love that won't last

Yet still I hold on, to the hope in my heart
A delusional love, that refuses to depart
A love that's born of dreams, of fantasies and fears
A love that's not real, but one that brings me tears.
Moonlight weeps upon my face,

A lonely serenade, a sorrowful pace.

The stars above, a distant hum,

A reminder of the emptiness that's come.

Memories of joy, now faded gray,

Echoes of laughter, lost in yesterday.

The fire that once burned, a warm and golden light,

Now reduced to embers, a dying, flickering sight.

In this dark and silent night,

I search for solace, a guiding light.

But like a ghost, it vanishes from sight,

Leaving me with nothing, but this endless, hollow night.

Tears fall like the rain,

A melancholy refrain.

For in the shadows, I am lost and alone,

Forever searching, for a home...

What remains?
In whispers of what could've been,

I'm haunted by the ghost of you within.

A bittersweet reminder of love's refrain,

Echoes of memories that bring only pain.

If only I had never seen your face,

Perhaps my heart would still be in its place.

But fate, it seemed, had other plans that day,

And led me down a path where love would stray.

Now, in the shadows of what we used to be,

I'm left to ponder on the what-ifs of you and me.

The fire that once burned bright with hope and desire,

Has faded to embers, leaving only a hollow, gnawing fire.

Oh, the cruel irony of love's design,

To bring us joy, only to leave us with this hollow, aching mind.

For in the end, it's not the love we had that hurts,

But the memories of what could've been, the love that we deserved.

To The Unread Poet
In the shadows of silence, you weave your spell,

A tapestry of words, intricate and swell.

Though few may find them, your lines still shine,

A constellation of thought, divine

Your poetry is a lantern, lit in the night,

Guiding those who stumble, through the dark of life.

Though unread, your words still hold their gentle might,

A soothing balm for souls, lost in the fight.

In the secret chambers of your heart, you write,

A symphony of emotions, a dance of light.

Your pen is a wand, conjuring worlds unseen,

A magic that transforms, and makes the heart serene.

So let your words flow, like a river's stream,

And trust that they will find, their way to a dream.

For in the act of writing, you are free and clear,

A poet, unread, yet full of hope and cheer

A Poetic Tale Too
The ink was blood, the page was bone,
She wrote her tale by grave alone.
No stars above, no breath of breeze—
Just whispers crawling through the trees.

The house stood crooked, lost in time,
Its halls were thick with ash and grime.
Each mirror cracked with silent screams,
Each room a vault of shattered dreams.

He loved her once in days now dead,
Before the curse, before he bled.
She wore her grief like silken lace,
And stitched his name across her face.

The tale she wrote could never end—
For death, she said, is not the end.
He walks with her in veil and frost,
A phantom bound to all she lost.

The final line she dared not write—
It waits, it breathes, it dreams at night.
And if you read this far, take care…
The tale still watches from the stair.

Last Ribbon
She stands where sea and sorrow meet,
Barefoot on windswept, splintered boards,
Her father’s cap held soft and sweet,
A lifeline in her silent cords.

Each evening’s glow, a dying flame,
That once would kindle storms of hope—
Now waning embers whisper his name
Across the vast, unending scope.

Her ribbons fray with every tide,
Blue for sky, and yellow for dreams,
Red for the grief she cannot hide,
All drifting off in moonlit streams.

She breathes the salt, its stinging truth,
That love can leave without goodbye;
Her childhood bleeds into lost youth,
As gulls wheel tears across the sky.

When dawn arrives, the cap remains
A hollow crown of memory.
And she, with hollowed, aching veins,
Walks home alone, adrift at sea.
Final goodbye
