It's not all cries that appear as red eyes
With tears flowing through the cheeks
Some cries appear as a smile or a grin
Only if you look close enough
You'll realize that the smile is a cover-up.
Hey, you... Me?... Yes, you... Listen...
You are wonderfully and uniquely made
You are beautiful just the way you are
No one can be you better than you
Don't lose you trying to be anyone else
Be kind, loving and at peace with yourself
There's more to you that you ain't know yet
Don't let the world define who you're supposed to be
Don't let the outside noise drown your voice
Don't let the lies from the world or
your head overshadow your truth
There is beauty and glory within you
This is the you that I want you to see.

I wonder what it feels like
To hold the world in your hands
And let it slip from your grasp

Suppose I'll never know

August
He gave me dead flowers
So I can smell them every day
The rotten petals falling
The color of decay

The washed out sunflower
The dehydrated leaves
The mold on the water
The color of debris

The richly red rose
Now drooping to the floor
The color of love
Existed no more

But still I saved the flowers
And smelled them every day
And watered them with tears
To let them grow again.

It was like everyone was listening to a different song, dancing to their own particular beat, but between that ocean of people, I noticed that you were dancing to the same rhythm I was.

once upon a time
long ago
there was a you and me

i knew you once
and it was nice
silence was comfy
and we didnt have to try

i knew you once
long ago
you shared your secrets
and i shared mine

i knew you once
long ago
but where did you go...?
argh, i miss you.
The poet lives two lives.
One on the outside,
And one in their mind.

When you look in their eyes
You could see an abyss.

If you looked long enough
You could sink into it.

But most people don’t see it.

Take the time to read the words, though,
And you would know for sure.

The poet lives in two different worlds.
A little escape from the madness.
Or maybe, into.

Raven
The girl in my poems,
she lives in the darkness
and never steps into the light.
I have never seen her
but I feel her when I step into the dark.
I can feel her tears when I touch her,
I can hear her quietly speaking
while she's lying in my arms.
And while she'll never come into the light
I can try to draw her with my words
'cause that's the only way
she can be seen.
I just hope that you'll see
the beautiful girl
I met in the shadows
if you look at my words.
