a quiet room,
a calming light
is all I really need
to write

a couple tokes
to ease the mind
it helps the words
flow out, I find

and my poems reek
of desperation
when I can't find
the inspiration
can't just turn it
on and off
or sometimes I'd just
make it stop

oh, and uhh,
yeah

a couple tokes,
to ease the mind
to force my work
is crap, I find

but most importantly

a calming room,
a calming light
is all I really need
to write

be.

continue to be.

always be.
because: you are.

it comes
slow, gentle

I sink
deeper, further

my breath
longer, easier

my awareness
narrowing, hazing

I sleep
succumbing, forgetting

It snows
falling, drifting

I feel
serenity, surrender

the flurries
golden, sparkling

i am
one with god

that little smile playing on my lips the bus ride back to my house. a sense of tranquility. being with you makes me feel at home. i've always looked for shelter in four walls, front doors, bedsheets, dining room tables, and every other little thing. but i didn't ever feel that connection. until i met you. and i realized a home doesn't have to be made of four walls. it can be made of a heartbeat.

Amongst the broken ships
I see thy standing upon a sinking deck
No chains bound her in place
The glare of sunlight shields her face
Then swans and sparrows come in pairs
Settling upon her feet
Pecking and prodding with cooing sounds
Their music a masterful soothing score
That drowns out the brutish ocean’s roar
So that a new sea of melody floods the world
Then all these notes flow into the girl
Resting within her once rigid heart
Which has now become a sacred Ark
