My mother asked me:
"What was he thinking?"
"What did he see?"
I couldn't tell her.
I couldn't speak.
I wanted the words to fall.
I wanted them to be free.
I couldn't think.
I just kept staring.
Blankly.
Hoping the moment would pass me by.
And that my mother wouldn't ask me why.
"What does he think of you?"
Why don't you ask him?
God knows I don't know.
Everything's a question,
up in the air.
Everything's uncertain.
Everything's unfair.
He keeps on sleeping.
And I keep on dreaming.
It reoccurs to me,
that somehow I keep breathing.
I can't be the only one who doesn't know we don't exist.
Who feels we've lost ahold of this.
My mother asked me.
I couldn't tell her.
I couldn't speak.
Will you tell me
so I can tell her
what you think?
You are
the ink,
the page,
the poem.

It's getting worse again.
These walls become my friends;
Tell me tales 'till night's end;
Have they gotten closer again?
Wait - why have they gone black?
*Ah, they've come to take me back.

No direction, dressed in distress
suppressed by excess of regret
expected infection, hard to digest
a left mess that's best to forget

projected wreck is yet to accept
object of the reflected effect
where defective breath has wept
I rest in the echo of my neglect

Duplicate Virus
The dark unveils in this new place,
A different scene; always the same face.
Creeping from underneath the door
It drags itself across my floor.
Seething, teething, mewling mass,
It raises up and cracks the glass.
The sun reaches out relieving grace
Out onto its cold, familiar face.

He paints the sky in diamonds
And paves his ground in money,
His light is made of gold,
His disposition always sunny.

He floods the sea in silver,
Dots the flowers in pearls,
His eyes are brilliant sapphire,
They see the entire world.

He looks past the dusted coal,
His life is made of rubies,
Around him people are rusted,
But he is made with beauty.

Red tights,
Flowing cape,
The city is calling,
It's not too late.

Spandex briefs,
Form fitting suit,
Humans are appalling,
****, ****, Loot.

Well defined muscles,
Girly boots,
The Joker and Penguin
Are in cahoots.

Carefully coiffed hair,
Gigantic chin,
Perched about the town,
Waiting for crime to begin.

Invisible car,
Cool technical gadgets,
Oh! He got away!
Curses! Almost had him.

A steel man,
The speeding bullet,
My weakness is this string...
Please don't pull it....

From Two Worlds

She was poised and quiet
Framed in the morning daylight
crashing waves
A fragile heartbeat
A gentle breeze
Behind her sadden eyes
The unfathomable depth of the
ocean
Torn and broken
Cast aside and abandoned
She put herself back together
Time and time again
She gave and she gave
While they only took and took
Not realizing the pain
Yet she still gave
Still loved
Each time picking up her fragile body
harder and harder than the last

Then the day came upon her
When he saw her
Framed body against the setting sun
Hair tangled
Tears staining her pink cheeks
Walked to her
Kneeling beside her
As she gathered her shattered body

He helped to pick her up
Words never spoken
As they weren't needed
Took her hand
Helping her up
Wiped her tears from her cheeks

No longer would she need to reconstruct herself
No longer would she have tears
He was not one to break her
Nor take from her
He help her piece herself together
Protected her forever
Never to be hurt again
She would be loved and free to love
Her spirit is aglow
By the moon and stars at night
By the sun during the day

She is the one for me
