Nowhere

I live in a nowhere town
Doing nowhere things
In my nowhere clothes
On nowhere days
With my nowhere friends
In our nowhere cars
We watch the nowhere sunsets
And sit in nowhere sands
We walk the nowhere preserves
And we read the nowhere magazines
But maybe one day I’ll crawl out of this nowhere hole
And I’ll be somewhere

Nowhere

I’m stuck in the middle of Nowhere
Can’t stay here
Can’t go elsewhere

I’m stuck in the middle of Nowhere
Can’t level down
Can’t go upstairs

I’m stuck in the middle of Nowhere
Can’t be a snail
Can’t be the hare

I’m stuck in the middle of Nowhere
Can’t move backwards
Can't over-care

I’m stuck in the middle of Nowhere
Can’t trust the Lord
Can’t stop the prayer

I’m stuck in the middle of Nowhere
Can’t stop the yawn
Can’t stop ceiling-stare

I’m stuck in the middle of Nowhere
Can’t have sweet dreams
Can’t stand nightmares

I’m stuck in the middle of Nowhere
Can’t stay silent
Can’t stop being scared

I’m stuck in the middle of Nowhere
Can’t let them go
Can’t pay the fare

I’m stuck in the middle of Nowhere
Can’t stop thinking
Can’t say I dare
I’m stuck in the middle of Nowhere
A day in life of a jack of all trades, so sad to say, and master of none.

there is nowhere else

I've said it on Facebook
but my family aren't friends
so they can't take a look

there is nowhere else

I sent you a text
Call me tomorrow
or the next, or the next

there is nowhere else

this is where I live
in my mind
Poetic verses
spill like curses
only the nonsense
I leave behind

there is nowhere else
I want to be written
nowhere else
I want to be heard
nowhere else*
where my heart
was first smitten
nowhere else
I think
I'm deserved

there is nowhere else
I need to be right now

there is nowhere else
I could be the why
but not the how

there is nowhere else
I want to be, but can't

there is nowhere else
to leave my heart
There’s I place I go to
When you cross my mind
It’s almost as if your still there
By my side
Whispering in my ear
Caressing my palm

We called it the bridge to nowhere

I remember meeting you there
Sitting near the end
Staring out towards the water
You approaching me

I remember looking up
At your perfect tanned face
Your messy dark hair
Your mesmerizing gold eyes
Casually wearing your football jersey.

I remember your simple hello
Your nervous chuckle
Your silly smile.

I remember smiling back
And inviting you to sit.

Our first meeting on the bridge to nowhere

I remember sneaking out after dark
To meet you there
Just to lay on the bare wooden boards
Staring at the moon

I remember the smell of flowers that spring
branches blooming nearby
The smell of smoke and spices
Forever embedded in your clothes.

I remember your singing
Sweet nothings
in Spanish
Softly in my ear

Entwined together on the bridge to nowhere

I remember your high school graduation
Your mother so proud
Your sister excited
Your father crying

I remember your first game in college
Your running onto the field
Pride and joy in your eyes
Though you didn’t play
Because of that sprained wrist

I remember your sweaty embrace
And your ramblings
of the game
Reviewing every play
Your eyes shimmering with excitement

Racing to the bridge to nowhere

I remember that call
Which changed my life
My heart stopped
I couldn’t think

I remember rushing
to the hospital
Crying with your little sister
Collapsed on the floor

I remember your bloodied face
Wrapped in linen
Tubes bursting from your chest

I wanted to race to the bridge to nowhere

I remember spending my nights
Curled by your side
Willing you to stay
Strong

I remember that endless tone
That said you were gone

I cried at the bridge to nowhere

I remember curling up in your hoodie
Smelling you
Pretending it was you
Your arms surrounding me

I remember lying by the stone
That recalled your name
Talking to you
Burning letters by the small candle

I remember cleaning out your room
With your mother and sister
Finding that little box by your bed
Your final gift to me

I opened it at the bridge to nowhere

I still go there sometimes
With a letter filled
With promises to you
And a flame by which to send it.
In a nowhere flat, wishing nothing - ‘cept release
Release from mind - release from nothing -
Everywhere release, in nowhere fashion -
Lame tame nobodies doing nothing all the time
Lax time in tame eyes - everybody is hypnotized -
From above, the name of God - and cross nothing -
Everybody is hypnotized, with screens - glasses
Brought forth from nowhere, in nowhere time
Time time, lame time speaking sinful prayer
Asking for nothing, not revenge, not salvation,
Not a thing that nowhere nothing could bring in mirrors
Everybody is hypnotized and words are useless to use
When in time for becoming mirror - because everybody
is hypnotized - clouded eyes - got a fear of time, running out
South northerns aching for nobody except birds,
Birds don’t have feelings until they die - because they fly -
They’re not hypnotized like Man, or slaves like legs -
They’re bound to the sky in subject chance - it’s nothing
It’s nothing - they scatter when winds blow - within time
Within time, without time - inside nothing nowhere,
In a nowhere flat, sad without sadness and searching for nothing
Nowhere time anyhow - everywhere - it’s nothing
Time is nothing - and everybody is hypnotized
A sink of ***** dishes
Empty bottles on the floor
Fly strips black with corpses
And a broken down screen door

Glasses, full and empty
cigarettes drowned in stale beer
I look around, then I wonder
How the hell did I get here?

I'm Somewhere going nowhere
Or that's the way it seems
A place  you couldn't make up in your dreams
I'm somewhere going nowhere
At least that's how it seems
I'm in a place you couldn't make up in your dreams

Tobacco in the sunshine
Corn reaching for the sky
Vices grown of beauty
You couldn't write this if you tried

I'm hooked on beauty's evil
I live on the dark side
I've the devil in the sidecar
And this is how I ride

I'm Somewhere going nowhere
Or that's the way it seems
A place  you couldn't make up in your dreams
I'm somewhere going nowhere
At least that's how it seems
I'm in a place you couldn't make up in your dreams

I look into the future
And I just see the past
The tunnel now is narrow
The time just goes so fast

My yesterday's are many
Too many to be sure
Ten thousand pounds of ashes
Dropped and stamped into the floor

I'm Somewhere going nowhere
Or that's the way it seems
A place  you couldn't make up in your dreams
I'm somewhere going nowhere
At least that's how it seems
I'm in a place you couldn't make up in your dreams

I'm Somewhere going nowhere
but, hell it could be worse
I think nowhere going somewhere
could be worse
yeah, maybe
Nowhere going somewhere could be worse

In Nowhere Town
No one remembers your name
In Nowhere Town
The dead are buried in unmarked graves

If your out and about
And you don't hear a sound
You know you have found

Nowhere Town

In Nowhere Town
The children play the strangest of games
In Nowhere Town
You find things out a little to late

When troubles start to mount
Your soon to find out
What's lost can never be found

In Nowhere Town

In Nowhere Town
The wind blows cold if it even blows at all
In Nowhere Town
Children grow up as men and yet continue to crawl

If you haven't figured it out
You feel your being pulled down
Then there is not a doubt

Your in Nowhere Town

I'm nowhere, I just want you to hold me and not move.
You don't have to try anything, you got nothing to prove.

When I walk I got a thousand question marks rising above my head.
Why am I still not dead?

I'm nowhere but I see a world in your stare.
Nowhere.

I'm still here and I think it's not fair.
It feels wrong.
I'm nowhere.
I'm really nowhere.
I'm really not there.

Looking around here, a new phase.
Again?!
A new looking face.
Where did my mind go when it ran?
Nowhere.
Only there where it can.

Nowhere and I see you there.
I'm still nowhere.
I will be around
When I'm found.

Look around.
Looking around new face and body.
I just want you to hold me.
You don't have to move.
I'm nowhere, what have I got to prove?

Nothing, I should know by now in this nowhere.
Nothing to prove, not a single care.
In the middle and stuck in everywhere.

I dreamt of elsewhere
But elsewhere doesn't accept the broken

No person wants something that is broken
Would give anything to a thing that is cracked
Or is missing pieces, gaps unfilled
No one takes a thing so close to destruction
It's not worth the time or the attention

Elsewhere is for the people who were filled with hope, joy, and goodness
I once again forgot that I am hopeless, in despair, and darkness
So I traveled alone with my brokenness and empty voids
To a place that nobody could ever find or would ever want to discover

Nowhere
That's where the broken go
The ones with holes and missing pieces in their heart
Those who are labeled as darkness and hopeless
With no laughter, no joy, not even a smile

There are others hear that make the requirements
But we may not talk to one another
All our faces are blurred
For just as on Earth we must live behind a mask of foolery
A state you were always alone with
And you still feel the overwhelming feeling of loneliness, deep within

I have lived in Nowhere for some time
And it the closest thing I have to calling a home

I am from Nowhere
I grew up in Nowhere
I am going Nowhere
The place between life and death is Nowhere

Nowhere is for the people who won't be accepted by Death
And are no longer needed in Life
But they ultimately choose in the end

I am Nowhere for I am still making the decision
