I choose to love you in silence…
For in silence I find no rejection,
I choose to love you in loneliness…
For in loneliness no one owns you but me,
I choose to adore you from a distance…
For distance will shield me from pain,
I choose to kiss you in the wind…
For the wind is gentler than my lips,
I choose to hold you in my dreams…
For in my dreams, you have no end.

Lost in reverie
Crying - a natural response
to undeserved love

My thoughts—waves in sea,
Footprints left upon the sand
are gone forever.

When I am among the trees,
especially the willows and the honey locust,
equally the beech, the oaks, and the pines,
they give off such hints of gladness.

I would almost say that they save me, and daily.
I am so distant from the hope of myself,
in which I have goodness, and discernment,
and never hurry through the world
but walk slowly, and bow often.

Around me the trees stir in their leaves
    and call out, “Stay awhile.”
The light flows from their branches.

And they call again, “It’s simple,”
they say, “and you, too, have come
into the world to do this, to go easy,
to be filled with light, and to shine.”

When I look at the moon I don't see it as light in the darkness
I observe a land unexplored

When I see the stars I don't gasp at their beauty
I frown upon the fact that I can't reach them

When I think of you I don't smile lovingly
I flinch in pain of what could be but never will

Amidst all the volatility
my love for you is the only constant.
