I need to stop looking
at her as though the sun has risen,
and the rays paint the universe in a collection
of pinks and oranges, and sparkles the terrain.
She cannot be the most beautiful thing
I have ever seen. For she is also the night
who constantly leaves me in the dark
when I need only a single slant of light
to scarcely live.

forced words on paper
scratched nails on chalk bored
stiff caned laughter
smiles to mask a wound
stitches to hide a broken heart.
this is what the world is standing on
but we can change
we can rebuild
we are strong
WE CAN DO IT.

baby my body is a masterpiece
my scars are a work of art
every battle and every victory
has had its own important part

my legs were my canvas
my blades were the paint
by night I was Picasso
and by day I was a saint

I am enough.
I am enough.

I am enough.
With or without you,
**I am enough.
