The rain fell like
a widow's veil that day
with storming and darkness
but delicately enough
for the exquisite beauty
of grief to be realized
by those pulled off
to the side of the interstate
photographing Mother Nature's
personal heartbreak

I was one of those
who watched as the sky
poured out it's bleeding black
heart onto the world.
No sun. No joy.
Only misty eyed misery
Concealed by the notion
That we pray for this
For the pain of another
To revitalize ouselves

Pain is life when life is sane
and a rainstorm is no different
The blackest of clouds
brings the most vibrant yellow flower
And the steely gray blanket
that surrounds the earth
is shrugged off by some
as nothing but bad weather
I smile and seem to think I know better
as I continue to *pray for this
Thoughts on the most beautifully heartbreaking rainstorm I have ever seen. Seeing this helped cement my belief that the earth is a living being with the emotional capacity to experience loss.

Please stars,
.      Explain to me the reason for my respiration
✦.        soft mortal brains cannot comprehend the situation
.  .    .     our fleeting existence comes with certain annihilation
✦    .    trapped in this dimension
       .    ✦ dragged along time
✦  .     .   racing through the now
.   .     capable of only mental exploration.
.✦ .   but for the false belief of divine creation
.   Sooner come death than an explanation
✦.

I went there without you.
I followed rivers to their oceans
as another after another cigarette
hung from the corner of my mouth.
I sat underneath a Seward sunset
and argued with God about
how I didn't want to die
and He kept telling me to
give living a try.
So, I met Satan in
San Diego, and we took a
walk down the Pier as I
folded origami.
I told him I was afraid
of death, but he was distracted
by blondes in bikinis,
so I threw the crane
into the water and watched
as it was devoured by the tide.

I sat with Jesus in Gethsemane
and asked Him if I had a bed in Heaven.
In return, He asked me to stay awake with him,
but the Klonopin was kicking in
and I was too tired to watch Him weep.
He is two -
Like a vinyl record--
he has an 'A' side
and a 'B' side;
guess which one
I love to listen to,
on repeat,
over,
and over,
again?

He is two -
Like cuttlery--
A knife
and a fork -
one is sharp
and cuts deep,
and one picks me up;
guess which one
I love to spoon?

He is two -
Both,
the sun,
and the moon;
and I,
... well,
I was doomed
from the beginning,
just like a shooting star;
guess which one
I fell for?

Over Sutherland Springs,
Where love is an unstoppable force
Stars shine brighter than ever,
And love will not be defeated
Love will go on forever
Not long ago, An energy force of evil intent invaded a man's body
And came to a small church in Sutherland Springs Texas
To **** and destroy all who loved God
Little children, their parents and their grandparents
Yet, love will not be defeated
Love will go on forever
