When I was small
   and I knew it all

When life was fast
   and nowhere to go

I just see myself looking back
   through the rear view mirror

And : When "Then" turned into "Now"
And : I'm not so sure about anything now
And : I want life to slow down
And : Last , taking forever to get here

   It was fear looking back
   In the rear view mirror

I think somewhere down the line in our parents' efforts to give us everything they never had, they forgot to give us what they Did have~

Grandpa had grit
He knew how to fight
Not for sport
but for that which was right

Up at dawn
His trade was life
Doing what he must
Dusting off strife

He'd say "It's just a reminder
that we're all still alive"
He'd just square back his shoulders
and cut Hell down to size

All but gone are the days
of men standing strong
Everything's grey
there's no right or wrong

We sit back and wonder
where our glory days went
I saw them galloping towards purgatory
saddled with truth, upon common sense

You open
the
fortune cookie
and
there is
nothing
inside
At a lowest lowest time this actually happened, proving once again there is no fiction greater than truth

We've become a
civilization of diseases
we build
monuments
statues
institutions
thinking death won't ever find
us here.

Our minds are scrambled
our bodies are damaged
our food is poisoned
our skies are toxic
our vices
are forces of processes
beyond our
control.

When we are not humbled
by nature's power
we inflict our wounds
upon ourselves in
the names of greed
and self protection
and no one knows
what it really means.

Fearful of the silence
we fill our skies with
endless noise
babbling on in endless
monotones, droning
while traffic stalls
at a hot stand still
idling engines
idling souls
depletion of every last glimpse
of the past.
Jam packed
in the stench
I am lost today
in
this vitriol
as anxiety, death and desperation
from every corner
screams my name.

That's why I came
to these woods
where the illusion of
peace remains
as
wild fires burn
just down the lane
as you know
as you say
its always been this way
when bodies hung
at every cross-roads
hunger, power, ignorance
and strength
all ran
the show.

I'm sick with
every disease I
know.

I float upon these tranquil
blue waters
and
we are reminded of the peace we all
really can know.
No One Knew His Name
The dead man lay silent, no one knew his name
but still he lay moaning
life oozing away, falling into nothingness
he was much farther out than they thought
life so easy to loose, so easy to be lost~
Poor man, always was lurking
always trying to have fun
but fun found a way, to take his life
for another day...

But it was cold so cold, and still he lay moaning
and she stood crying, silently fading into the background
into the darkness she must go, she didnt want to know~

Shadow man steals the night
nothing is safe from the disillusion and fright
fallen from grace, takes heart in hand
finally beats to a different band~

Time takes you to a different place
wide spectrum's once known for limitations of grace
if dusk would have it, then bleed some more
final days of New Man of Shadow forevermore~

Darkness takes what is left, tempting rays of broken sun
dawn would flirt of nocturnal things that bleed and burn
grievance with darkness blinds the light
solely spoken from each night~

Does the New Man emerge?
yet then, he
has been wept over before....

But No One Knew his name.....

It doesn't matter what you call me
It doesn't matter what you think
you will not change who I am

I am who I am
I believe in equality.
