I would paint your sky a thousand colors, if I could
And inspire the restlessness in your heart;
I would give to you a million stars, if I could
If I could, I'd gift you a new start.
You can't cry in silence
Without making a sound
You can't hide locked away
Without ever being found

You can work without end
Never stopping to rest
Exhaustion will take you
When you are past your best

Love with seek you out
When dark streets you roam
You feel you are forever lost
But love will guide you home

As sorrow drags you down
Taking you deeper into despair
Don't believe you face being alone
Because your friends will be there
Dedicated to all those who have been there for me on here, love you all.

I once spoke to a broken poetess
Transfixed with her words
She told of hearts long forgotten
Of the loss felt in her soul
Her poetry led me to other places
Her imagination became an open book

I never told her of what I saw
A woman full of compassion and beauty
Her aura was of a warm, sensual glow
In her very eyes I saw her sparkle
Her words entranced me like a spell
Her voice was the sound of an Angel

But alas, I could never fix her
She was fated to be a broken poetess
So fragile, but with words so strong
Her heart forever beats in her poetry
Reaching to touch those chosen few
My broken poetess touched me as one

The Ending Of The World

I was sure the world would end today
It was the beginning of the fall
That others would tell the story
And pass it on to all

Not sure that I would hear the news
I'd  see others on their phones
As they talked about the days events
And wonder if I know

I was sure that this would happen
For the day it started wrong
Realizing as I drove to work
I almost turned to go back home

There was an emptiness inside me
And a panic not the norm
Yet I did not exit on the ramp
For my half way point was gone

So I spent my day just waiting
No connection, all alone
I know that you can feel my pain
For I left my phone at home

The world it did not end today
Was not the beginning of the fall
I realized this when I rushed home
And saw I missed no calls

I am so so not important...lol

*Carl Joseph Roberts
Don't you hate it when your more then half way to work and realize, crap I left my cellphone at home. You are just sure that today will be the day the world will end, the day you really needed it...lol.
Time passes on by
Intimate moments fly
Counting as seconds pass
Keeping secrets such as;
In the midst of dreams
Nothing is as it seems
Gathering specks of time set

Comforting of how you met
Leaving behind a future gone
Of when the days were long
Clouds are in darkened sky
Killing hours before you die

I miss you like one would miss bruised knees
(From all our time on the floor)

I miss you like I miss the bottom of the cement pool
(Even though that's where my friends are)

I miss you like I miss razors raking my skin
(But my arms still beg for more)

I miss you like I miss the party scene
(Still think of it from time to time, though)

I miss you like flowers miss winters frost
(Cold and biting, never giving in)

I miss you like I miss hands around my neck
(I think I'd still say I love you, yet)
He Has Now Become A Man

My Son has grown into a man
And I am proud of what I see
He gives himself to others
When others are in need

Shows compassion for his fellow man
And has a soul that is so true
Is not afraid to open up
Or to share his heart with you

My son has wisdom beyond his age
Seems to know what to say and do
Wont give the answer that you want
But the one that is right for you

He will stand his ground to do what's right
Or lead a group and make a stand
And that's how I know the boy that was
Has now become a man

For Kylor J. Roberts
"I Love you son, Dad"
I watch as he gives himself to others with no reward to himself other thn the knowledge that he is helping somone else.  I realize I have helped raise a boy into a man. A proud father and a great young man.

I want to read a book
That's never been read
Hear a gentle word
That's never been said
I want to sit back
And close my eyes
When I open them up
Everything is alright

I want to ring a bell
That's never been rung
Sing along to a song
That's never been sung
Pull back the curtain
With all of my might
So I can expose
Everything is alright

I want to see
What has never been seen
Take a long walk
In the hands of a dream
Reach as far as I can
The highest of heights
And pull down to earth
Everything is alright

I want a spot
Where I feel I belong
Take all that I've got
Before it is gone
I want to shine
The brightest of lights
So I can find
Everything is alright
I took a break behind the bar
Just resting on a beat up car
Strumming on my old guitar
And she came walking by

Playing music in the night
With only me in the moonlight
I saw her moving to my right
The third time she came by

I play music to the air
It's nice that no ones there
It's not something that I share
It's for me, the moon, the stars

she sat down with out a sound
she sat cross legged on the ground
there was no one else around
I now played my song for one

I watched her as she closed her eyes
beneath the moon and starry sky
I wonder if she'd realized
my singing now was done

she came out to hear me play
almost every single day
this was the first time she did stay
and I made sure that she heard

the songs I sang in broken parts
were songs of love and broken hearts
but to love, you must fall to start
and that was in my words

she never said a thing to me
she'd come on out where I could see
and I give a show for free
but it never grew from there

time has passed and I still play
the girl has grown and gone away
I sometimes wonder where she is today
and if she wonders...
