Staring at me through blank eyes
What I thought was inside
Turned out to be a spiral of doubt
The only thing that turned out to be real
Was the lesson I learned
The slap in the face
And the reality check
That not all people are looking to love
Some just want the surface
The smudges on the glass
Distorting what you see of yourself
My reflection in you was my self worth disappearing
Apologetic for who I am
And my belief of wrong
And right
I could have loved you
Now you're just one more lonely girl
Too stubborn to be anything else
Just know I could have loved you

Let the crushing waves
wash the abrasive sand from our eyes

Let the infinite blue
replenish our breaths for deeper dives

Let these words fall free
and fill the silence between us

Let the beats of our hearts
set the pace for our lives

So many voices
form a consensus
never give up on your gift, poet
what kind of future for Mankind might just rely on your seemingly impotent whispers.

Dreams of Sepia
Ode
Think only of the starlight
& the coming sun
focus on nature's breath
trembling wet on a leaf
the walk through the bluebell woods
the sea glittering
think only of the fact
that some are brave
that their work
sings the songs
of trampled voices
dispelling darkness
& that they will be brave
just as the sun will rise
& fall
& the stars will shine
& the Sea will murmur
for a long while yet to come
For those moments when I doubt I can be as brave as I should & then remind myself of the fact that I know brave people & if they can do it, I can.

it maybe one word spoken in time for all eternity
even still

A circus ring this is, don't forget that just because,
the big top isn't there and you aren't in fancy clothes,
trained animals, all have taken human forms, clever disguises,
the ring master frequently changes, one often finds oneself at the
receiving end as someone or the other lashes out, immutable, it is!

Look at her killer smile, the flying trapeze is her favorite act.
The tiger that stands beside the girl is purring for now, but her roar
makes you sleepless day and night, one smells fear in the air.

The audience is silent,no smell of blood wafts, though impatiently
they sniff in the air, without any evil wish, think some animal,
will go berserk and a spectacle unexpected will unfold.
A circus ring is a place unpredictable, the tense moment
every one has predetermined, would be the best,
wait with bated breath,in this tent, life is a mystery , til the end.

AprilDawn
Autumn
     arrives
on waves of
sheer exhilaration
for those summer
  worn  bodies
hungry for  horizons
enveloped in
  colorful palettes
fall is courted
with the best
of intentions
a clearly
moody lover
   who year after year
whispers goodbye
in piles of leaves
         among rapidly
vanishing  vistas
We were all  counting down to Fall it seems this year  , and  honestly  the  beautiful part of the season rushes by way too fast before barren landscapes and cold  remain for what seems like months on end  ...
