Aching hearts or burning bridges?
My mind races as quickly as your footsteps run amok in my sanctuary.

No peace of mind resides, so peace, I have to leave you behind. Love is all you need, what a fallacy. Trust builds real love. If it flees then love is but a drug, numbing senses, dulling intuitions, instincts,
If it smells like rotten eggs, it stinks

Pleadings and pleasings,
Return to sender please.
Wrong address because you’re not ready to please my mind, ease my mind. Don’t want to me to see the last seen.

Foibles, fumbles, stumbles,
Reminiscent mistakes are daggers to my heart.

Yet, out of the bloodbath comes no effort made to ease the ache of a heartbreak, only sorrow and pain left in its wake.

The struggle continues, solitary soldiering, destined for a peace longed for to ease a troubled mind.
I find it you know, that peace I was looking for.

But nothing is free, oh no Siree,
Especially, not peace.

Her Soundtrack
Evon Benjamin Nov 2016
Her soundtrack
Plays deafening volumes to my soul
Drowning out the hum of the mundane
Trying not to make a false step or trip over my own feet
You dance to the rhythmn of her beat
I waltz into her arms, shimmy into her psyche
Two step over her frowns and walk it out onto her street
The music beckons, I can hear it
Calling me with its pulse, vibrations and crescendos complete
Give her your best moves and she will reward you
With nothing less than her heart
This is the soundtrack of her life
Make sure you play your part

**The Grass**
Evon Benjamin Feb 2014
The Grass,

Withering, faint, unrecognisable,

The grass calls me to me sweet.

Leaves a sliver of sweetness,

Fleeting euphoria,

Highs unimaginable,

Giving of its sweet evergreen aroma if only for a time

Yet so strong that you cannot help but to cling to it for dear life.

Why do I yearn for the grass so?

When it is all around us – abundant like the air we breathe?

That is because the grass is the breath,

Pungent nostalgia that,

If ever last for so long as a day, lasts for a lifetime.

Make it
Evon Benjamin Apr 2015
We thrive, we strive,
Keeping count, riding the tide,
We make it.

Bodies moving in unison,
Unaware of the juices, flowing,
Rising like flies with the stench of success,
We make it.

No one can try tell what our lives will reveal, even if we speak the outcome with nails scratched on the walls of heaven or hell,
We make it.

And in true human fashion we create a life that is poised to conquer, poised to dominate, create dominion using pride and hate,
No matter what the cost,
We have to make it.

Are we destined? Are we decided?
Are we unified or are we divided?
Much like the waves lapping the fading beach, we watch and plot the eventual storm that will erase any memory of our trod.

But somehow we hold on, with surety and scrutiny, nothing new to me or you, the humanity,
And sure enough,
We make it.

Earned It
Evon Benjamin Apr 2015
Am I wrong for working?
Making time to be first in?
Can we keep it moving without making moves?
I think not. Understandably we try to live our lives,
In a way that we can experience beautiful highs,
And even the lows, because as we traverse the planes of existence,
Bending flows that ebb us closer to Nirvana that,

Keep us constantly working,
But do we really need to work? That hard?
Searching for what might not be there?
Is this a dream that we are living in?
One that we will toss and turn,
Yearn for rest, that will, ultimately,
Keep us working...

Freedom Friend
Evon Benjamin Oct 2016
Wasted, used, abused, freed without heed
Energies bound in places unknown, people unseen, needed
By those who expended energies for the sake of love
happiness, greed, cruel deeds
Insatiable passions to keep our minds closed, a finality
Alas, do we call it finally, a curtain call or the first dance
The beginning of a repartee that will entrance
Enrapture, entice
Before long bodies entwine, leaving a trail of  vice
Nothing imagined, something gained,
Freedom friend, that’s what you are
Endless possibilities for the mind
Wandering souls for knowledge to bind
Keep me close for never will i find
A freedom friend quite like mine

Anchor
Evon Benjamin Sep 2016
Sitting pretty on the dock,
Anchor awaits for no man
Highlights of the wind,
Creating waves on fan.
My love,
What is your purpose here,
Forthwith to keep me safe through the tempest
No ship that hath not seen the gale and gust
will be counted as worth of fame
So as far as it depends upon me,
to weather the storm,
and sink anchor after the tempest is conquered
beaten and battered,
without a whisper,
But a thud, safety

When the princess smiles, life is golden,
Wunderbar! Maravillosa!
Sunshine and simple things,
Happiness is bliss,
Blistering heat turns cheeks and blades red,
Cutting through the waves and sheets
Shattering the silence, the bed
Wha gwaan my ute, bless up yuhself empress, says the princes.
When you moose the midnight,
And love the soories.
Reminisce on the kiss,
Play the anthem for the princess

Bloody Murder
Evon Benjamin Aug 2018
My head screams ****** ****** for transgressions seemingly unending,

Erring forwarded to my hearing
Crimson vision impaired, offence is the best defence, tackling the tactic, chasing the victory, the vice of being right,

General Pyrrhus charging into battle, the right plight seems fit, only to be defeated by the victory, was it worth it?

When did this invisible limb become so important?

Doesn’t bleed, doesn’t break,
But holds the key to how we take words, our fate, decided by the prison of pride , when will you release yourself, gain victory over the protection that exposes, that sinks deep into our passions

Already
Evon Benjamin Aug 2016
I'm done, already,
Making me live life in my mind, already,
Giving all to my own, already,
Following the road most travelled, already,
Frost hearts, frigid feelings, already,
Will you find me in your world,
Perceived passions and unfulfilled hurt,
Can't you take me there? Already?

— The End —
