Why is it that I go to sleep feeling lonely
But wake up to one hundred texts
People don't want me during the day time
But in the night I'm apparently a godsend

The 2 A.M. "what're you up to"?
Surely I know what that means
What you really want to know
Is if I'll satisfy your needs

When you're just a pretty face
No one cares what's on the inside
I'm the girl whom your mind jumps to
When all you want is a good time

I may not be everyone's cup of tea
But surely I'm their ninth shot of liquor
Brought up over drunken conversation
You all say "yeah, I'd stick her"

It doesn't matter what I say
It's not as if I have a choice
In this world of simple pleasures
I'm viewed as a body without a voice
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
Money in the pocket of the biggest shareholder

Day by day, we grow older
Love is lost, hearts grow colder

So while you still can, you should hold her
Say what you feel, before you wish you'd told her

Don't stash your dreams away, in that folder
As you care less what they think, you'll get bolder

Listen to those, who need a shoulder
Let her live, don't try to mold her

Don't sell your soul, for something golder
It does not cost anything
the emotion is totally free
It is everything to be loved
Do you agree with me?
Spare a though this Christmas
for all those that dont have love
Just think what it is like and pray
to the great Lord above.
Pray for those that go without
no love, nothing to make their dreams come true
In this day and age it should not be like this
the only one that can make this change is you.
To be loved is everything, it does not cost much
Just a kind word, a helping hand, anything
Just that helping hand is what they are waiting for
You never know, for them it is everything.
My philosophy professor posed a question:

Mary, an expert in color—

The way light bends through rods and cones and the use of electromagnetic radiation—

Is blind to it, unable to even imagine the beauty

Of your sea foam eyes,

Rose petal lips.

Does she, knowing every fact, every formula,

Truly know color?
It got me thinking,

(I guess that’s the purpose of philosophy)

Did I really love you?
(It felt real to me.)
out of the
gray storm
comes
the
rain
that
cleansed
my soul
from
the
river clouds of pain
for
the
brighter day
A tide pool of a swirling heart,
A smoky room with vision lost.
The loud muses play their part,
Money bleeding, whatever the cost.

Love is not a slave that’s bought,
That age is standing silent still.
If I could command it to be caught,
I’d force it, bend him to my will.

I’d wrap my hands around his throat,
Careful not to put out love’s spark,
Threaten to throw him from my boat,
And into loveless waters dark.

“Make her love me!” is what I’d shout,
My tantrums would echo off the moon.
“End this dry and lonely drought,
Command my love, make her swoon.”

But I am not a man in power,
Nor am I one to beg to the stars.
I see the sunrise from this tower,
I see the weakening prison bars.

To listen to the guy
Blab about money
Each and every day

And because
It was always more
And more

Life turned
Into a total bore
5 days a week
From 9 to 5

Seemed like
Money
Was a drug
For this guy
To stay alive

He could have retired
A long time ago
But he spent
And wasted
So much you know

And so he'll
Work and work
Until the work is done

What a miserable
Existence
And not much fun
