Waking with a start I lept,
Away from the odd place I slept,
I could taste the Other near,
Like the touch of patient fear,

Something strange I couldn't place,
The path of which I could not trace,
A creeping darkness without source,
That won't be stopped by will or force,

Now reaches out with ancient word,
Forgotten just as soon as heard,
And as a shadow slips through glass,
No wall or gate will stop Its pass,

Not pain nor pleasure matter much,
To It time has no halting clutch,
No food or rest or friendship sought,
Just the fear of those It caught,

And now I break within Its grasp,
And I hear Its chilling rasp,
"No heaven or hell for you await,
Eternal darkness be your fate".
One fine day
we'll find China
printed or
stamped through
everything

made in Peking.

Hong Kong, Taiwan?
old school and
they're gone

this is the new Cathay
doing it their way
one fine day.
I eat mandarins for breakfast
Their duty
to shoot me,
six pounds of pressure
on the trigger.

bigger men have tried
and that look in their eyes
when they died
haunts me

The beauty of duty is one sees it
as one's duty to do it

and the third light was the one
that got me,
a flight of fancy
does you good
apparently.

I watched for the miracles
avidly while
eating baloney on rye
until the sky fell in on me,

a duty to shoot me, but
I didn't expect that.

THANK YOU HELLO POETRY
You filled my heart with joy
My words affirmed and praised
It truly is a humbling moment
To have such kindness raised

My heart is overflowing
From all the love I got
Such an outpouring of emotion
I never would have thought
BOEMS BY JA 454
Mirror of my soul
Love, for whom the bells of my heart toll
How can I make you understand,
I'd swim the widest ocean, just to hold your hand
Though we were together for such a short while
My heart still shines remembering your smile
The sound of you saying my name so sweet
The way you touched me when we would meet
The feel of your body against mine
In great love we would intwine
But like a thief in the night you slipped away
Leaving only sweet memories to fill my days
Faces only remind you of
How lonely you are,
You say you've swam too far
Into the sea of your regrets
That I am your lifeboat
But didn't you hear
I sank long, long ago?

You've been searching
For a new home,
One that doesn't creak
Or shudder at night.
But homes are not people
And your voice cracks
As you point out
There's a welcome mat
By the front door
But I never answer
When you knock.

It's been a while since
I started attracting
Strangers with flashlights
To search me like
A haunted place.
I finally realized they
Were the ones that
Needed scaring away.

It's so odd to think,
You once told me
You saw beauty
In clifftops,
And I thought you
Were talking about
The view.
