The clock had chimed it's
Midnight song
The scribe did ponder doom
Lamplight broke
The shadows long
Within his spacious room.
The light it flicked and fell upon
His sleek head so neatly groomed
It shook as he recounted wrongs
Sad countenance assumed.
No matter how the
Clock world gong
T'would not dispell the gloom
The devil had scribe
On trident prongs
His wraith o'r Poe did loom.

Edgar Allan was in deep despond
As he thought of angel seen
he had escaped the
Benighted pond
For her, his he'vnly queen
And tho he had no magic wand
To bring about her gleam
Again to hear the lovely sound
Of her wingtips keen
His heart once more
began to pound
Thinking of his dream.

The bust of Pallus, pastey pallid
Did o'rlook the crime
While Poe sought to
write a ballad
It seemed nothing
would rhyme
His heart beat like a mallet
He, a poet in his prime
Would not take to his
Down pallet
'Til seeing his sweet, sublime.

Lenore. Angel of his dream.

The second of a series of
Poems detailing the world
Of Edgar Allan Poe.
The first was a collaborative
Effort between myself
And The Scarlet Pimpernel.
Hopefully more of those
Collaborations will be
Posted in future.

sorrow's river
floods in tears
the weeping lasts
for many years

sadness staining
the hearts of the bereaved
with a constancy

the soul's eye
ever spills
torrents
of
loss
rising
waters
the
impost

consolation
comes
to
comfort
the
existing
as the inundation
subsides
into
healing

~

Beyond the sand and water line
alone in quelled explore
These footprints lead uncharted miles,
the first of many more

To wander in a time once known,
reflective worries gleam
In sand dune wishes washed away
and thoughts of what they mean

This setting sun shall rise again,
bring mornings to their due
Tiffany shades to paint the way
hypnotic thoughts of you

We’d walk this beach of moon lit swirls
to count each star above
These tiny lines from me to you,
connections of our love

When now this silent vacant space,
misplaced of harmony
Dark shadows play a time before
of what this world could be

Sitting here these shifting sands,
my heart does swim the tide
Ebb and flow desires sung,
tear drops cast aside

When there a shinning light appears,
deep within my stare
A figure from my memory
performed of glistened flair

You take me swift into your own
with eyes to meet my gaze
Longing for the past returned
of brighter sunny days

Words inscribed this moistened beach,
scrolled so deep the sand
“Meant to be, eternally”
cursive in your hand

Soft a curved horizon’s smile,
immersed of drifted sea
Drenched in every breath of you
is found this destiny

Sandcastle dreamscapes, seashell bliss
we walk again this shore
Like waves that fall our endless strand
*as one, forevermore
You heard my words,
you stung my soul
you turned away
while I loved you forever...

The nights were long
as you sat there staring
you reached for me
you knew, I would love you forever ....

Our hands would meet
Lips would part
my heart would sing
yes I loved you forever ....

The darkness would part
the daylight brought forth
the words of truth, I told you
I will love you forever....

Just Melz
Have you ever felt so alone
You just break down and cry?
Start wondering why,
Is it even worth it
Why do you even try?

Have you ever been so scared
You just crawl up in a ball,
And drown the world out?
Waiting to fall
Why do you bother at all?

Have you ever felt so much pain
You'd rather just feel nothing?
Walk away from everything
Just leave it all behind

Because I have...

But
In the back of your mind
Your counting
Counting the days
And the ways to say goodbye
Cause deep inside
You wanna try
But it hurts and it's hard
There's scars on your heart
And scars on the truth
Cause you're not bullet proof
Or immune to the lies

Have you ever missed someone so much
They're all you see when you close your eyes?
And it's hard to define when you can't even touch

Because I have...

Have you ever felt so much hatred
Makes your eyes burn red?
Knowing you can't forget it
Or forgive it
It's done and dead
Blowing it all up
Filling your head

Have you ever seen someone so scared
That they can't even speak?
Can barely breath
Look in their eyes and see deep
Through to their soul
But you'll never know
What made them so

Have you ever felt so weak
That you just fall down
On the ground
Can't get up or
Even let out a sound?

Because I have...

Too late to laugh,
too late to cry,
too late to love,
too late to die.
its always too late.

When she carries so much loads
And she cries for help and prayers
When she sees nothing but darkness
Only one shows that he really cares

When the ghosts keep on coming back
And she only hides in a shaded side
When she hears nothing but the blames
Only one can comfort her and guide

When the day is starting to break
And she is trying to fix her life
When she needs a place to stay
Under his wings, she feels no strife
Only One can do magic in someone's world.

I been missing you
It feels like you have been gone for an eternity
Year after year after year even though you only been gone for a month
Everyday is the same
I would stare at the skies wonder why aren't you here, where are you
I just want to hold your hand, and walk among the sandy beaches
Dance childishly under the majestic waterfalls
Then lay in a open plain gazing at the stars, as we make a wish upon the one that falls
Though my wish has already came true
I met you, the most beautiful girl in the world
Your eyes twinkle like the stars only brighter
Your smile them lips are nothing less than perfection
Then your personality
Strong independent woman yet sweet and incident
So this is me asking you
Will you be mine

The poem was very different
Not your ordinary write...
worded quite uniquely
the message fresh and bright.
I was so inspired I stayed up
Half the night
I wanted perfection it had
To be just right
When at last i finished it
I put it on the site.

The company of strangers
The company of friends
The company of other poets
Who's work is towards
These ends
We read all these
new concepts
Inspiration lends
We put out ideas
Their pathways wind and wend
We type in our computers
Edit and press send.

As many poems as poets
As many ways to say
Hello world! Many countries
On any given day
We write like knight's in
Armour headed for the frey
Our messages bright colors
Or maybe only grey
Destination is creation

*Hello Poetry the way!
I just want to say that I am amazed by this site
It has been said before
By better poets than I
But I want to express that
If creative energy
Were electric
We could light up
Paris. New York. Rome.
Hong Kong. Los Angeles
Are you getting the picture?

No more fears
Don't hide your tears
No more pain
Under the rain

No more doubt
Now I can shout
No more hate
If this is fate

No more worries
Accept all sorries
My man, I love you
I always do.
