Upon the grassy, sunlit mound, wind blowing, leaves quaking,
sighing words of sun and rain, the trees speak in weathered tones,
of sun and moon and star and stone. Stalks waving, soil crumbling,
life wakes beneath the ground, and stirring moves to face the sun.
In the early days of spring.
A Tribute to the growth of spring, appreciated now, despite the heat.

Breeze on my skin.
Sun in my face.
Cradle of bliss;
Spring's own embrace.

The tall grass waving,
leaves sighing, sun shining.
Silence crowns the lonely hill,
and life moves slowly, calmly on,
while peace abides between the
cracks, in the ancient mossy stones.
In the old and silent stones.
A poem I had written months ago, idly. I now retrieve it, and show it to the light.

Poetic T
They were always up there, when
Moments of cognitive reflection started,
Gathering they went from white to grey.

They would start to think, rumbling
As Liquid thought meet with ice
Particles of deliberation.

Then thoughts would strike from their
Being to the solid below, it would be the
Beginning of words as gravity took hold.

Precipitation fell, first thoughtful drizzle,
Then as words spoken, each raindrop
Was voiced on the terrain below.

They uttered for what seemed like a
Deluge, their words flowed down
Streams and rivers to the waiting sea.

Words spent, that flowed no longer, not
Talked but evaporating skywards to the
Waiting white, to be spoken once more.
When clouds talk this is what is the result.

In cool light of heavy air,
The lovers worked at song,
Whittling the oak as it grew,
Wrapping time in knot, a gear
By the rounded dial of a snail,
Even the sun waltzed forgetful
And antique moon soon forgot
What it knew under wink of stars,
The field was all in hushed flame
As the new ant trails always were,
Saying in the grass that May, windy,
Is all we can know ever beneath trees
As they burst from breaking blue earth,
Will always, grasping, be this evergreen,
The lovers became here truly, new witness,
To themselves never more, but only this once,
Eternal, fresh, undivided, jewels of sun, divine.

Like a crushed petal, unbearably tender,
I walk the place where you were born.
Shadows now surrounding the ecstasy,
Of kisses lingering ‘til morn.
The space reflects now an innocent light,
Where we thought a lifetime arose,
Our lives filled with supernatural minutes,
Perfumed nights, naked flesh, we unfroze.
We were drunk under the spell of summer,
And in perpetual moments we captured,
All that was, and is, and ever could be,
From the moon to the stars enraptured.
We spoke of everything in the world,
Our subjects were only ever you and me,
Dizzy, bubbling, life’s blood streaming
A delirious passion, lasting eternity,
And now within this terracotta land,
Under blinding cerulean skies
My heart cries out to the cold cruel sea,
As minute by minute I die.

Well yes
It is nearly summer
My beautiful manicured lawn
Well no......
Burnt brown patches from dog wee
Beautiful minutely planned to the last detail
Flower borders
No, where have I gone wrong?
Flower seeds mixed in profusion
Scattered, germinate where they fall
Scratched up in heaps by my cats
But I don't really care about that
Let's face it, be honest
Walk the woods and country hedgerows
Nature doesn't care
Doesn't care for color coordination
Or how the picture should look
Come on now the hated **** has its part to play
Just let the bees and butterflies
Enjoy this floral display

A butterfly upon a lily
An orange sherbet dream
Flowering the sunlight
Within an angel’s wing

Softly flowing fragrance
Sweet upon the breeze
On this April morning

Morning shines
The sun is bright
Yellow centers
Petals white
Daisies bloom
Wild and free
Springtime comes

Your ways
( tes façons )

“Shadows grow so long before my eyes”

In silhouettes of dreams past and present
Deep within my desperate heart,
as I yearn for your love, reaching for my pen,
digging through postage stamps and paperclips

“And they’re moving, across the page”

Producing odd shapes on striped paper,
outlines of shaded emotions and verses
Calling out your name in bold ink
and rhyming stanzas of affection

“Suddenly the day turns into night”

Twilight steps over the horizon
as tree top edges touch newly glowing stars
Peering through curtains of cosmic lace
and flickering candlelight with soft breezes

“Far away, from the city”

Miles counted by minutes can be
a daunting task if I hesitate, yet footsteps in the dark
follow paths illumined by your eyes,
as my need grows for your love…I just can’t wait
