Twisted sheets, mind on stutter
Unable to sort through this midnight clutter
Put it away for tomorrow
But what to do with my gnawing sorrow?
I circle soft blue on color book pages
Hoping the repetition eventually assuages
The raw edged reality of lonely dark hours
Filling the void with Crayola flowers

Night appears in an avatar
of a sweet chaperon,
coming with a lovely dark gown
to dress the shy, blushing evening
cajoling her for a slow make over,
she implies, it's better letting
the will of darkness prevail.

Now she is a perfect charmer
night, lets her long dark tresses
loose, that flows in waves
down through her back and
caresses her rotund proud buttocks,
adding to her silent grandeur,
till the next spectacular day breaks.

Night is an ace  temptress
with full moon at her side
as an irresistible  magical charm
to sway even nature, catch
the sea in her net,
of attraction and makes it  dance,
bewitching night makes
the stars in her coiffure gleam.

Night is an agile courtesan,
having royal patronage,
eyeing you wistfully,
hellbent upon her this day's conquest,
her amatory skills one can tell
will be *****,she is classy nevertheless.
In her boudoir, women are salacious,
hungry men too dance to her tunes,
what you gain after a spirited
amorous duel, is the gift of dark eyed night.

I have done time in the prison of the mind

sewed a blue chip on my  shoulder

left the valley to roam and wander

nurtured a black, tormented seed

gave myself over to a blind man's need

I have done time in the sanctity of the moment

stripped down, undone, naked, free

felt the healing waters wash me clean

nurtured a bright, unfettered soul

gave myself over, finally whole

Your deep oceanic eyes dilate
Leaning forward to get that first kiss
He lingers, but you don't wait
Something he'll fondly reminisce

Fingertips trailing his collar
Your hands trace whats unknown
Just as the world becomes much smaller
He pulls you close and let's out a moan

Through his deep gazes you giggle
Your flurrying lungs won't rest-
You can't breathe it's simple
This happiness involuntarily expressed

The smiles never seem to abate
The moments together are pure bliss
The sudden unfounded belief in fate-
Begins from looking straight into the abyss

He makes you tremble and shiver
As he laughs avalanches into you
You begin to feel like a river
You're swept off your feet without clue

And then you panic
You start to realize
You're falling quickly
And he won't be there
To catch you
In between kisses
and laughter
You tease him
"Show me your *******"
And then your tone changes
And you say
The forbidden words
And you can't take them back
So your eyes begin to well up
And form into pools, into ponds, into lakes, into oceans
And you're drowning
In your emotions

The sweetness once upon your teeth
Disappears from his soft touch
He seeks you for his own relief
You're both eachothers crutch

Weeks pass and your oceanic eyes
Constrict in the mirror
With bloodshot moons
And panic attacks
You can't breathe
it's simple like that
I didn't want to write about him I wanted to be able to move on within ut working through it. But I can't breathe. And I need to find my breath again.

If there is one thing I learned from you,
it is how to read a map.
See, I've been lost for quite some time
Been trying to find my way through land mines
Dropped by men who uttered promises like they were prayers:
holy, sacred.
Been trapped in a maze that guaranteed no end,
like a white mouse finding his way towards his reward only to find out it's all just a test.
I've been doing this for so long that I can't even recall my tracks
when I wanted to turn back
Because when I look back
It's always too late, and I'm already in too deep in
the messes I've created for myself.
What I didn't know was that God created you...as if
he knew I would need your light to guide me
and your body to be the beacon that beckoned me
and as if God broke my heart on purpose before I met you
because you were meant to meet me after I
figured out how to fix myself.
No, you didn't fix me.
I wasn't the broken girl that needed mending
But I had a lot of questions
and you saw them in my eyes
But you didn't have answers right away.
No, we weren't love at first sight
or
fall in love over heels
and I wasn't a princess in the high tower
waiting to be called
what I'm saying is
We weren't a fairy tale
But sometimes, it feels like that to me.
I find it hard to believe how of all the paths I could've taken
My God pointed your way and said,
Hey, trust me, I know what I'm doing.
You taught me how to read a map,
To understand the direction
Towards where you and I are meant to go
Beyond all the mountains and seas we've been to
You taught me the coordinates towards
forgiveness
and patience
and maturity
and kindness
and above all,
love.

Throwing rocks into the winter river.
Ice as thin as a child's soul's skin
Carries not the weight
Of History's oldest weapon.

Like a paperless poem it shatters,
Floating away with the fleeing stream.
Water needs no windows.
Nothing is outside to its within.
