You might find this tid bit
A bit hard to believe
But I swear my cat sees thing
That I ain't never seen

I'm thinking that it's spirits
Floating all around
You can most often tell
With her constant peculiar meows

She'll sit there and she'll stare
At one spot to no end
It seems to me it must be the dead
As sure as I now live

Or when she ups and jumps
Batting at nothing but thin air
I doubt that it's the micro dust
But rather the spirits floating there

I know that all cats automatically come
With a total of nine lives
Which leaves me to often wonder
How many live on the other side

Yes, my cat sees ghosts
But you would never know
Cause she seems to see the strangest things
That no human eye could ever hope

This is to pay homage to our very smart calico-color-cat
She talks too much even talks back and on her collar
a heart-shaped name-tag bears her name, "Reese"
being the lover of people...

You see, too many other behaviors so lovingly insane
she bears a reflection in short verse
I can only explain...

You see, she gives a parlor welcome
by rolling on the floor
our feline watchman
for the opening of the front-room door

You see, she sits so
like the sphinx
upon the sea of sand
so reverent, so silent, so grand

You see, she thinks she's Cleopatra
gliding across the room
chasing imagined whatevers
in an endless purring tune

You see, she likes to:
Side swipe, give a loving bite, bump a head,
be on our bed, dizzy dance, be in a trance
kiss her head, eat with love, tap our leg, and
open our bedroom door...WOW!!!

You see, watching furry *****,
her crumpled way to sleep
sleeping in many places curiosity to seek
and once upon your leg-bed
so cozy, so warm, so deep

You see, she's the lion in Africa
on an earthy colored rug
chasing toy animals
and an imagined turtle dove

You see, she drops her favorite toy
besides our bedroom door
making trust and love
will forever endure

You see she dashes up our steps
and flies all around;
practicing for tryouts- seemingly-
as a dashing circus clown

You see, with her sorcerer's spell
think or mention her name
then BAM!!...out of the blue
she's walking in your domain

You see, her hiding in foliage
is nothing but a chair
ready to playfully pounce
upon a toy duck in despair

You see, her eyes of staring wisdom
burrow right into you
A beautiful loving feline
from the university of feline U

You see, she gives us orders
what not to do
because her alma mater is feline U

You see, she's cat-dog-human
perplexing as can be
Makes one wanna climb
the highest nearest tree

You see, she licks her coat of colors
of Reese peanut butter candy cups
of brown and dark and milky chocolate
one of her many ups

After all, this list keeps growing
and must be cut short
I must collect my thoughts, for many things to sort...

Thank you and Reese says, "MEOW." (as always)
Cats serve a purpose that's no lie-
Sometimes they make you sad and can make you cry-
For the most part they are smart-
They sure know how to win your heart-
They are there at times when you feel ill-
Having them at times is a thrill-
I love my four feline friends-
Hope our friendship never ends-
They fill my hours in my day-
AS they go on their way-
They play all day and they can play rough-
Two of my cats are mighty tough-
They jump and beg on their hind feet-
That's when I pull out a treat-
They jump for joy and beg for more-
Then I scoot them out the door-
ALL  in all I think they are grand-
AS I feed them their favorite brand-
OH yes I love all four-
And will love them more and more-
THE END
NO matter what day it may be my cats make my day-
Wheter they are playing-sleeping or running-what can I say
They sometimes get into mischief after all they are boys-
There are times they fight over their toys-
There are times they want to play-
GOD at times they make my day-
Cats are loveable there is no doubt-
BUT when they are bad I need to shout-
Basically they get along fine-
I'M  proud to say they are mine-

this is a fine morning and the man in the bathroom mirror smiles
though he admittedly isn't the friendliest person but honestly
he seemed genuinely glad to be awake and alive on such an Autumn day
with the birds chirping and the window near the kitchen slightly ajar
allowing safe passage to a nice chill breeze. he finds the cat up as well
meowing "Good morning!" cheerfully and innocently in its tiny cat voice
and he chuckles and meows back in the most accurate manner available.
on the kitchen table there's a mug of coffee, the newspaper rolled like a cigar,
a plate of waffles, bacon, scrambled eggs and powdered happiness which
the man gobbles wholeheartedly while reading the day's fresh headlines:
President Declares Peace on Earth, Local Man Defeats Dog - Gives Too Many Treats,
Cop Buys Medical Lemonade From Child's Lemonade Stand, World Hunger Exterminated...
permitting the felines to rule our existence was truly the best of ideas!
There is no God but if there was He would be a Cat.

"How do you know which one to choose", my granddaughter Emily asked , as we pulled into the parking lot of the shelter. "It will be the first one that gets up to meet us" I said, with a bit of anxiety.
After registering at the desk, we began the walk down the aisle, looking at the occupants of those cages that lined both sides. All of a sudden, about 10 feet in front of us, a grey and black striped leg with a white foot, came protruding out from the front of a cage. The paw began "flexing", as if signaling, "Hey! Over here!"
As I held her, and Emily stroked her forehead, she emanated a very strong, exuberant, vibrating, purr; contented, unafraid, her head tucked into the crook of my arm. We had found my Guardian Angel!

I whispered to her as softly as I knew how:

"We are going home-
I will always keep you safe,
I will never harm you
You will always have shelter, food, and water-
I will keep you warm in the winter........
and cool in the summer.......
You will not 'want', for love."

As I whispered those words, her purr grew stronger, her paw flexing against my arm. For you see, I am convinced that God told her we were coming, and to give us a sign to let us know where she was. It was He, who chose her for us. Some of you may not agree with that, and that's okay. It's important that me and Emily believe it. Regardless of which room I'm in(except the bath), she is there, as she is now, asleep on the foot of the bed as I write. My home isn't empty.... anymore.

When my wife, Karen, passed away, the "angel" we had, Scheppes, stayed with me until she was twenty. Brie does not take her place, for she has her own place, and is doing quite well as a "Guardian Angel", in training!

Bleak days are upon me.
Well, everyone.
The sun has gone south
for the winter.
The trees have given up
their leaves,
in hope of new life
next spring.
The neighborhood stray
meows at my door,
cold and hiding from the rain.
She comes in and eats,
then sleeps on the couch.
It is some comfort
to have a cat.

I want to dedicate myself
to coming up with a phrase
that will be repeated and remembered
for all time
Something like
still water runs deep
or
look before you leap
or even
Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep
Four or five simple words
How hard can that be, right?  Ha
Right
My relentless search for
The most beautiful
Is over.

You came to my lap
Leaned this graceful
Head on my upper
Tight,

Covered with
The puffiest blanket
So familiar to us.

And Thou are ~
The eloquent Elegance,
The proof for the Sacred
Geometry, alive, warm
And lovingly cuddly.

I adore Thou blackest
Dots, above your Feline
Fangs, hidden as your
Cat's conundrum; When

Rest, how
Thou charm seeps
In me; like classy
Lion paws
Streched,

Touching my hand
Lovingly.

I trickle my fingers across
Whitest beard, and savannah
maroone blackness.

Jade consciousness opens up,
And starts to purr, pressing my
Wrist tenderly when me writes.
This is an ode to my beloved cat Mani. I love him dearly. Sometimes he can be so gentle and so loving to me. It's a true blessing to have him near and within my life. Words can not describe how grateful I feel...and enchantingly charmed. Fabulous Feline Fascination.

The vet said Sully had reached the end of his life
She helped him pass on, I buried him in the garden.

Before it came to that, I had been sitting outside
Sully had his favourite place, he was dying and he was smiling
I said to him that if he had to go, it'd be nice if he came back

A while after it rained - not the light and gentle feeding of grass
This was a deluge that caused people to stand and stare in wonder
That so much water could ever have stayed up in the first place.
Thunder shook the foundations of the world, sky was ripped apart

In the road outside a kitten appeared, walking in circles
Jack from down the street brought him to me
I called him Sully McNimbus.

When Sully McNimbus was run over, the vet did the same
And again, Jack brought a kitten found outside, walking in circles
A girlcat, I looked into her eyes.
It had been raining
I call her Storma

A furry angel watches me while I sleep
A furry angel hardly makes a peep
except an occasional purr or meow
The furry angel requires no vow
but likes food and love
In return she loves me much too
