As I lose my way
in an endless ocean
made of flowing knowledge,
my head feels like an anchor,
towing down my heart
below the waves of facts,
to the depths of information
as I drown I do attract
insatiable predators,
all the while,
above the surface
all is doomed to fall
beneath the rising tide,
slowly crawling up
to eat the howling sky
... from about a half a year ago...

Rare but Relevant
He sees her body
Not her sore tears
Or her forced smile
She's afraid and crying out
But he only sees her flushed pink lips
Not her unhealed scars
Or her numb heart
He's blinded by her beautiful appearance
He doesn't hear her screams
He's too focused on what her hands might do in the dark
He'd be disappointed to know they only turn on lights
Because the dark scares her
Just like happy faces and crowded places do
Moral of the story she's broken
Like shattered tempered glass
And she has an excellent disguise
Like chameleons in the trees
So to the world she's completely fine

Sitting in the room with a blank stare,
you have your whole life ahead of you and people
care,
Making sacrifices for friends that won't do the same,
they were never with you all along,
they don't know your name
Thinking about what your brothers and your sisters
did,
All day long trying to penny pinch,
Looking for a decent job is minus percent,
And you can't love a boy round here cause non of them are men,

Soul Searching is so ******* hard to do baby,
when you've got the devil running after you baby,
could you find the light and let it redeem? maybe,
can't i try to make you feel like a queen baby?
But the trust issues ran so deep lately,
you can't trust anyone , not even family,
The past has ruined your life in many ways basically,
that doesn't mean anyone can be the enemy.

When I found out that you found someone else,
My heart sank deep into my chest;
As an anchor sinks into the sand.
I've never felt so heartbroken before,
So hopeless, so useless,
so uninspired, so much sorrow in my soul.
I never expected you to fall for me,
but why does it have to hurt so much?
Isn't love supposed to be a joyous feeling?
Then why does it leave me so breathless,
so empty, so tired,
so worthless, so heartbroken?

He said that I'd never have to breathe again.
Breathing wasn't necessary.
He said wounds would never be made.
I'd never feel the sting.
He said I wouldn't drown.
Stay above the water.

His love makes me immortal.

I'm gasping for oxygen.
It is so necessary.
The blood now drains from my skin.
The pain is excruciating.
And I find myself going deeper.
Unable to breathe underwater.

Because his love had made me immortal.

I stood atop my hill today
After court was out
I wondered what God might say
So I decided to give him a shout
He responded with cold rain
It fell upon my face
I knew right then that I was done
And suffering was my place~A
My ex husband walks for his sins. No justice.

"I think ***** may be a tragic hero,"
A student said,
"Linda tells her boys he is an average man,
And it's time for average men to be attended.
That he gets up and goes to work each day
Is enough to make him a hero."

We listen in the darkened room,
Breaking to think our thoughts aloud
Before we dive back into the pool
Of Loman miseries:
The braggart wearing down,
The cringing rage against
The darning of socks,
Silken stocking memories,
Naughtiness recapitulated.

And sons spinning round
The vortex edge,
Wondering whether
To bail or pledge....

The stage is growing dark,
The audience darker,
Receding from bright memories,
Nobility's idyllic days denied,
Nothing left but the emptiness of pride.

Accepting brassiness and braggadocio,
We lean, breathless beneath skyscrapers,
Accepting commission-only pay,
The emptiness of false news,
And mediocre heroes.

"Boys! The woods are burning!
Can't you understand?
There's a big blaze going all around!"
But no one understands.

We are all dreamers,
Hoping America makes us great again,
Wishing to live the Salesman's life,
Willing to leave Plan B hidden
Behind the fusebox for now...
If only hope remains,
If only champagne wishes,
Caviar dreams besot us in our schemes.

"Nobody dast blame this man!"
Says Charlie, and he is right.
It's tough being out there
Living on a wing and a prayer,
Promising the moon,
Promised the moon,
Age coming on,
No seeds planted,
No sun to shine
On what's left
Of the garden....

A little salary,
A smile,
A shoeshine,
Cannot suffice.

Believing dreams that lie
Is no reason to live;
Seeing the blue sky alone
Is no reason,
If there's nothing to own,
And no place to call home.
Dreamers and Schemers.... *****, Biff, and Happy. Linda Loman. Charlie and Bernard. A woman, and what passes for an empty man....
