Thunder crackles in the sky
Fleeting pictures of lightning flash when I close my eyes
The rain fights against the glass
I lay quiet waiting for the weather to **pass

Swirling morning mist, draws abstract patterns of love
moving sprightly,  between golden rays of sun,
prattling  breeze and other manifestations winter presents,
green grass on the meadow looks like a dew studded carpet
pussyfooting rabbits, lick dew drops in a hurry and run back
to the warmth of their burrows, to sleep for some more time.

Sun, the nourisher eternal of the world , don't hide anymore
come out, peep above the crowd of sleepy grey old clouds,
looking grumpy, ill mannered and winter arrogant to the core,
don't like their attitude a bit, come out blow your trumpet of warmth
make the drooping wet birds, dry, fly up to the sky with a happy cry
sing songs of joy, warm the hearts, drive the winter gloom out.

Walking along snow,
As footprints of old.
Travel doth a print show.

Howling along the wind,
Winter wolf.
Alone.

Suddenly speak,
Growl to eat.

Winter wolf hunts,
Along the ravine.

Howling snow,
Blanketing the forest below.
Waves of white,
Dusting the darkest light.

Winter wolf,
Howl unto the moon.
Befriend a pack,
To call your home.

Winter wolf,
whose paws print the snow.
Travel doth those prints show.

Winter wolf,
Travel far and wide.
Moving miles a day,
Sometimes nights.

Winter wolf,
Untamed and gallant tis thee.
Howling unto the moon.
That derives itself the king.

Winter wolf,
Move the land.
Travel far and wide.
Find your mate.

Create a pack,
Howl together.
Within the Frozen wasteland,
Of a snowy tundra..

Sun
I envy the sun.
It gets to shine on your charming face everyday,
stare at you from far above...

It will burn you, love you too much,
but you will bear with it,
and love it still.

It will hide its face for some time every night,
Turn it's back for awhile to take care of others,
and you will always wait faithfully and long for its return.

It will leave you little toys,
Trips to other worlds that shine bright,
Little holes in the galaxy
That connect like a connect-the-dots games,
To keep you entertain while it is away at work.
But you still long for it and love it still evermore.

It will stay with you,
watch over you,
take care of you and give you a smile,
keep you healthy.

And you always long for a bright, sunny day,
and stay gloomy when it's gone...

But I guess you need a dose of Vitamin D,
more than you need a dose of Vitamin Me.

It's early in the morning, the sun comes over the mountain
peaks
To reveal a million shimmering diamonds scattered round her
feet
Each a liquid sphere of beauty shot through with rainbow
light
Only the magic hand of nature could create this wondrous
sight
A million glittering dew drops were laid there over
night
Each is now a diamond transformed by the suns warm
light
She sits in stunned amazement as each diamond fades
away
Burned off by the rising sun with the coming of the
day
The idea here was to incorporate factual nature, glistening dew drops with a bit of imagination

Born of sea
Starlight birthed in her eyes
In the ephemeral breath of time
She walks along the shore
With no trace of footprints to be seen

The winds pick up
blowing through the evergreens,
reminding me of low notes of Cello.
Owls seek shelter as dawn breaks
and tints the feather-like clouds
with all manner of colour.
A breezy morning...
A new day.

Snow change dull brown meadow
into a white lacy gown,
glistening with sequins and rhinestone.
Enchanting meadow now bridal white
breathtaking bride—a sight to see
winters kiss and snowy robe.
Touch of romance of season
cold but still warm embrace.

Gathering chaparral, just after rain
sticky leaved, miniscule, green
tiny bundles, scented woody
now one, with earthen hands
under a winter moon, garland star stitched
pitch of juniper, pinion fire
only a dalliance this
fragrant desert

In the moonlight, high in the Lemon Gum,
perched under the arching ghostly branches
two eyes of jet peer from a snow-white mask.
Tyto Alba, the Barn Owl, with heart shaped
****** disc, edged with ruff of stiff feathers.
Mottled pearl-grey body feathers above
the moth like plumage, purest white beneath
her slim legs are bare on the lower half,
with small feet that end with deadly talons.

Nocturnal, she roosts in the heat of day.
You will hear her screeching in the cold night
hear the scream before you ever see her.
She can see in the half light of humans
night vision even in total darkness
pinpoints her prey by listening to each sound
the desperate, scuttling little creatures make.

She is a well designed killing machine
with hooked beak, powerful feet and sharp claws.
Her flight feathers have softened edges
to make her deadly flight near soundless
She swoops silently down without warning
seizing victims with her claws, biting deep
into their neck arteries, puncturing
their most precious organs for a quick death.
Owls are deadly but fascinating birds of prey.
Wading through tide pools
Tiny ***** slip under rocks
Purple stars abound
The surface full of sparkles
A child's wonderland unbound

She comes each day
to comb the beach
for words beneath the waves.

Tongue crests roll curled
syllables to shore

The salt wind catches
breath and sighs

claws the chords
and clamour of the stones

reckless tide scratches
sentences of sand

splintering into time
particles and meaning

tidal drag snatches
back surface similes

slips back to blue
and thunders timpani

drifts back to reflected light
smooth land and water.
