we're two matches burning together slowly

all i feel is warmth and light around me
even if i'm one day closer to dying
and it's beautiful

As as The sun brings warmth to my body
And The air fills me with new life
Just as The earth gives me grounding to walk upon
And the sea is my path to renew
For purpose to reflect ones true calling
Simply Trust the feelings you feel from in you

Remember when we burned
down the federal fences
and let a black family in
a white house built by slaves -

man, the fire was hot
and the smoke smelled like freedom -

but that was then, and here we are
not so much later, the rails are made
of iron like the fists of a dictator -

the smoke burns my eyes, man -
and now - I can’t breathe.

din le lo
Rain gently knocks on my window
The door is shut
Silence finds a way to sneak in

Blankets warm my body
Mind overflowing with thoughts racing at 100 miles per hour
Rain
Rain
Rain again

My pencils breath timed perfectly to the trains persistent horn
Chest caving in and filling it’s lungs

I believe I long for love
Pulled back as I try and run
Eyes peeking through my soul
I try to run
Ease on by
It won’t last forever

I believe I won’t find love anymore
My thoughts aggravating
Irrational beliefs

I believe I will find love
Through the painful connections

One day I hope for love
Hopefully I’ll get my wish

your name is
forbidden in
my mouth
or in my heart
because when
i think about
you;

i'll cry a little more,
hurt a little stronger
love a little softer
because you no longer
make me feel sober

i'm drunk on the
memory of you
if only i could chase you with pizza but shots don't work like that
