he is fire
and i am cold
sit back and admire
cause our love is gold

solid as the ground beneath our feet
free as the birds above our heads
with each other we are complete
hand in hand, until our deathbeds

Thank you for believing in me when I thought I was a joke.
Thank you for loving me when I could not love myself.
Then you for embracing my personality and heart and voice.
Thank you for accepting my identity as I am.
Thank you for claiming I am enough when I feel anything but such.
Thank you for finding value in my life where I see none.
Thank you for seeing beauty in a dying shell.
Thank you for keeping me here even when I wish I was not.
Thank you for giving my words power when I thought they had none.
Thank you for recognizing me.
Thank you for allowing my tears to fall and not make me feel ashamed.
Thank you for everything.
To those who know my true self
aboard the ship named Jolly Roger
she
wears the black Skull and Bones Flag
and
it
waves in the salty air
where
the
pirates celebrate
in all the captured *****
and
flashed
their
whiskey smiles and yellow bloodshot eyes
while
the
pirates shouted out
the
sun taste like sweet bottles of ***
She wrote love stories to hide the fact that she didn’t have one of her own.
he planted—
flowers in her heart
watered them every day
and left it to wilt
"I'm an open book"
She says

Written in
code.
Grow up, they said
but even as I did
I lost some child like wonder

Now. All I could ever want
Is to grow back down.

Bees mistake me for a flower
When I sit on the back lawn in my bright pink robe
They find me
Stuck in the summer of 2016
And wander off

Mya
Shes deadly and sharp
Yet loving and careful
Like nothing I've ever seen before
Or dreamed before
Because shes not like the books I read
Or the poems I write
Shes a force all her own
And I pray to god
I never see the day
Her heart breaks
Welcome to my home, where

The foundation of my house is strength,
The walls are painted with a thick coat of perfection,
Comfort is my source of light,
Grace spills out of intricate vases,
The refrigerator is stocked with love, commitment, and loyalty,
Financial stability is boiling on the stove,
A photograph of trust hangs up on the wall.

Beneath the floorboards is a flight of stairs
leading to the cellar below. Please watch your step.

Down here,
The air is damp with disappointment,
Rusty old shelves line the walls of despair,
The shelves are stocked with labeled jars of
Tears i haven't cried,
Pieces of a broken heart,
Clouds of regret,
Pages of words I haven't spoken,
An empty jar of loneliness,
Pins of pain,
and so much more.

Each jar is tightly sealed.
Some are damaged,
Some are broken.
Few people have handled them,
and some remain completely untouched.

Welcome to my home. Please watch your step.
