I drank his acid,

he drank my fear.

He slit my wrists,

I swallowed the blade.

He lit the match

And I was ablaze.

He killed me,

And I let him.

She was a hurricane.

And when the storm hit,

I had a choice to make.

To play it safe and run away,

Forget her smirk, the wild glint in her eyes.

Or to grab her hand with a smirk of my own

And chase the storm,

To dance in the rain.

Hey pretty girl, won't you lift up your chin,
Put your monsters away and please let me in,
I won't break your heart, I wouldn't know where to begin,
Take your last breath and hear what I say.

Let your heart strings unfurl, and I'll bind them to mine,
And they'll beat a strange beat, as they now intertwine,
Close your eyes pretty girl, I'll make everything fine,
For I am Death, here to take you away.

You were right there, by my side,
Through everything,
Except losing you.

She just wanted to see if she could spark a flame,
How was she supposed to know, she’d set his whole world on fire.

God I missed you,
I missed you and I don’t know why,
But don’t you worry my love,
Just let me reload,
And this time you’ll die.

Sometimes

                                         ignites         a
                                       flame,
                                       other times
                                                        it
                                                    simply
                                      sputters  out
                                   leaving
                                behind   nothing
                              but                        a
                                wisp of smoke
                                  and a hint
                                    of
                                     sulphur,
                                       the only
                                        evidence
                                      we even
                                      tried.
